Looks like some very politically schitzophrenic people to me.

91% support continued attacks against the Israeli military and settlers in the occupied territories (but 45% do oppose killing civilians inside the green line, a good sign I suppors).

And AFTER a peace agreement, 88% oppose adopting school curriculum in the Palestinian state that recognizes Israel.

Until this changes, there can be no negotiated peace. Palestinian terror will have to be defeated militarily.

Polls like this would seem to rule out any possibility of a negotiated peace in the next decade.

Yes. Another interesting number: 30.7% see nothing wrong in Jordan putting obstacles to travel to Jordan. This is when no danger to Jordanians exists to be blown in pieces comparing to uniformed outrage that Israel closing access to prevent civilian murder. No surprise, of course, because no outrage existed before 1967 to discrimination from Egypt and Jordan, but telling anyway.

Interesting comment. I just posted the PLO's phased plan of 73-74 on another thread, Report: Palestinian Goal is Destruction of Israel in Stages which, along with the destruction of Israel, calls for a revolution in Jordan to establish a government which will ally itself with the PLO.

And another telling number:

11. Do you believe that armed confrontations so far have helped achieved Palestinian rights in a way that negotiations could not?

1. Definitely yes 24.5
2. Yes 46.0                    Total 70.5
3. No 20.8
4. Definitely no 3.9
5. No Opinion/ Don’t know 4.7

They clearly state their goals, Report: Palestinian Goal is Destruction of Israel in Stages and believe its working. BTW it looks like they are right in this assessment.

What can persuade them that they are wrong?

This poll does show that some economic wishes do exist among Palestinians, but they are vastly overshadowed with hatred to Jews. Plus, they believe that their PHASED PLAN does work. The only conclusion: they need to be made painfully disillusioned in this. Then, may be, desire to better their economic condition will have a chance to move them in the smart direction.
