Want to hear something really scary? According to Mondays Times, the average amount of time a Freeper spends on that nutty Web site is five hours and fourteen minutes. Talk about needing a life! No wonder dishonestreporting and inaccuracy in media are so starved for people who know how to write an intelligent letter or even read a simple statement. Its sad, really, and I feel badly about piling on.
MORE HOLOCAUST CHEAPENING
It occurs to me that the story of my calling Cockburn an anti-Semite on a couple of Nation cruises has a funny footnote or two. Both times I did it at dinner because I found myself seated next to someone who told me that the chance to meet Cockburn was the reason they had come on the cruise. The first time it happened, the guy next to me announced, I, too, am an anti-Semite. He then proceeded to start on a long disquisition about how the Jews all stuck together too much and were so successful in business that every society had to figure out how to control them. Hitler might have gone a little overboard
. When he said that, I said, Youre right, and also a jerk.
I got up and headed for the casino. This being a Nation cruise, however, the rest of my table tried to talk him out of his evil ways. One by one they eventually gave up and went to bed. When it happened last year - which is I suspect when Cockburn heard about it - a different guy who gave the same reason for being on the cruise told me that the Jews had actually faked their own mass murder in Poland, and that a new book had proven this, but it was being censored in America and could only be published in Canada, where he lived. Fortunately he did not mention this until dessert so I was already finished when I heard the casino beckoning.
This from a guy who spends his spare time going on ocean cruises sponsored by a thumb-sucking paleo-Marxist rag like The Nation.
Just imagine if Alterman spent that amount time checking the facts of his articles. Then we might get an intelligent comment out of him. Its sad that a "big time journalist" would have to stoop so low as to make fun of citizens concerned about and reporting on their Government. Much easier than researching a hard facts story I guess. And what's with his swipe at the mentally challenged? Nuts? Where is his sensitivity?

How do they even come up with these figures? I'm always logged in, so how do they know when I am 'on that nutty Web site'? Would that make me a 24-hour user, even if my eyeballs are not actively reading the site?
It seems as though I spend an average of five hours and fourteen minutes on for every five hours and fifteen minutes. Gotta pee sometime ya know.
I, too, want to know per day or per week? If it's per day, and the TV is off, FR is by far the superior TIME investment. If it's per week, that's about 3 so-called Hollywood 'Blockbusters' I won't vegetate with.
Thanks for posting this, Brian.
"NUTTY"??? Is that an objective journalist's adjective?
