Don't these people ever think about where they are throwing all this money? Maybe they have Arthur Andersen types doing their deals. Their accounting books might make good reading. Maybe the SEC should read them.

Oh, I just can't wait til S&S discovers Hillary's $8M con job. Do they think people will really buy her lies about those glorious days in the WH when Bill was trolling for campaign dollars and interns? And she was setting the nation up for a Clinton 11 presidency.

Maybe she oughta title the book, "What I Learned from Machiavelli."

News reports also say, " Simon & Schuster were so impressed with the 268-page hardcover tome initially, it also released the book in audio form and had plans to publish a paperback version later this year."

Guess they'll go whole hog with Hillary, too {{blech}}}}.

What is she going to write, when she doesn't 'have any recollection' of anything that went on before or during her White House years?

This is hilarious. In the business world you're supposed to exercise due diligence--or as it's often put, "do a due diligence"--to make sure any business situation you're getting into is sound and is what it appears to be. These guys at Simon and Schuster were simply so crazed with greed that they didn't even check to see who they were handing half a million bucks to. Amazing. They deserve to be screwed out of their money for trying to make money from crime.

Yea, I believe this is one of the publishers that turned down Ann Coulter's "Slander".
ie; liberals are IDIOTS...(false)ideology is more important than ANYTHING!

Not many people here think that Hitlery's eight million was a straight up book deal. We call it payment from several different sources for services rendered and plent of future considerations out of her. It's legal funny money.

Considering the unneccsarily large advances given to numerous authors, I'm left wondering: How much kickback was there to the editors who okayed the deals?

AP is reporting that Nielsen BookScan says the opus has sold 21,289 copies. That means Viacom/S&S spent $23.49 a copy on the advance. I don't think Sumner and Mel got their money's worth.
