If you are in love with international treaties, if non-governmental organizations make your heart beat faster, then Johannesburg will be the place for you. If you care passionately about fighting poverty and improving the lives of children in the Third World, on the other hand, then there are probably better ways of spending your time and travel money.

The UN is nothing but a bloated freedom hating bureaucracy. They are so caught up in their own survival to see what works and what doesn't.
The time has come to pull the plug on the UN.
The US needs to realize that all the money we have spent has be thrown down a bottomless pit of irresponsibility, UNaccountability and waste. Once we withdraw the UN will quickly die. At that time the collective sigh of patriotic Americans will be a resounding "Good Riddance".
