I didn't watch because I can't stand to look at Reno. Will they have some kind of legal officials watching at the voting places in this election? I sure hope they do something!

hey, you're preaching to the choir if you're trying to convince me that McBride is not a nice person. His management bloodbaths at Holland & Knight are legendary.

That American Lawyer would focus on him in this way is no surprise. His practices are common knowledge in the Florida legal community. For that reason alone, I believe he will have a difficult time winning the primary.

Still think the McLawyer handle is a cheap shot, and not terribly descriptive since Reno is also a lawyer, and Jones sure sounds like one.

I'm not sure the article when read in full is that damaging to McBride. Remember the steps he and the management committee took were ten years ago during one of the worst legal markets ever. That was when the whole law practice paradigm changed, client demands were increasing and attorneys were no longer happy to stay with a firm out of "loyalty." Those equity partners who were earning $250K were likely bringing in five to ten times that much in fees. If management couldn't keep them happy, they'd be moving on to greener pastures, just like in any other market-driven business. It's a little transparent for us to tout the free market only when it's our guys who are advancing it and to condemn it when it's not.

Although a shrewd businessman, McBride lacks the communication skills of an effective politician. He sounds hollow, likely because he is not a warm person, merely a "logical" one.

Well, he IS a lawyer - I mean - if saying what is he is a "cheap shot" then I agree with you. You haven't mentioned the fact no one here is being paid to provide him with name recognition. He's supposed to do that with all the money he raised in his campaign - not with people on FR. LOL...

I didn't see any "Storm Troopers For Reno" in the crowd.

Boy, that hurts. I would tell you to go fly a kite, but you probably would. I've been working on an MCSE so I've been a little out of touch for the last couple of weeks...
