I understand what you are saying. You have given and been victimized my some middle man. There were a number of threads after the towers fell about millions of dollars sent in to the Red Cross not getting to the victims' families. Also, some Christian ministries appear to be gathering money to make their own name great rather than the L~rd's. United Way funds non-Christian causes. There have been and always will be some crooks and abuses in the system.
We are not to take it out on the poor and certainly never to despise the poor because they are poor, but rather to be more discerning and creative about how to get funds from one's own hand to the needy, with the least cost in between. We have strong feelings about not funding those with false doctrines to continue to preach false doctrines as well. Each of us will be judged on how we treat others, so we need to continue in well doing, but that doesn't mean you have to use agencies. Responsible stewardship includes checking out agencies, if you give to them. Here's one we have heard good things about: Mercy Corps. Hereafter is a section written to people in troublesome times, encouraging godliness, and not to be led away in wickedness.
2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
