At least we found out where he stood on what mattered to us before the election.... I expect the Governor's double digit lead in the polls to get even bigger in the few weeks. I just can't see the base getting moved to vote for someone whose views on cultural issues are virtually the same as Gray Davis.' What the Simon campaign didn't learn from the 2000 election is that matters to Republican voters isn't the economy, its the culture stupid. With the right values a true conservative will win everytime. When a Republican runs as a cultural liberal he will lose. Its no mystery why GOP candidates keeping in California and the truth its never because they ran as conservatives in the fall, its because they ran as cultural liberals. Somehow I don't expect the RINOs in the state party hierarchy to absorb the lesson.
