And that is a real shame. You guys may lose Smith for Sununu and we probably will get Dole for the retiring Helms. Sad.

Definitely some differences with Bush on policy, but Sununu is way out there in liberal lala land. He is NOT a conservative.

Sununu's record in Congress, particularly on national security issues, makes him look like a Cynthia McKinney wannabe.

yeah, right.

It just shows how desperate Smith is. Taking Rove's tepid comments as an endorsement is laughable.

Now, it is you liberal RINO Sununu partisans that are desperate. The White House endorsement of Smith along with all other Senate incumbents is a well-known fact that was communicated by Karl Rove around June 2001. Sununu is a joke that is unworthy of the support of any who would call himself a conservative, which is why every conservative in the country has endorsed Smith over Sununu while the pro-terrorist/Islamicist voters, mushy moderates, libertarians, and internationalist neocons have endorsed Sununu. Seeing them together at the debate just went to show it. Smith towers over Sununu who lacks the stature to be a Senator in oh so many ways...

Not too familiar with sununu but he's killing Smith who looks like a sweating, overweight has-been. Respect some of Smith's conservative positions in past but he looks pathetic in this debate. He also needs to go on a diet, bad.

Your Comment is quite sad, and speaks volumes why this country is in the state it's in. God Forbid we elect a LEADER.. a Man with backbone.... he must pass in the "looks" department. The people of NH love Bob Smith, and Admire him taking a stand, Even when that stand wasn't popular... even against his own party. Shame on you attacking his looks... I'll vote for SMITH Proudly.

Rove's go-through-the-motions support soothed you, eh?

Like I said, when should we expect to see Bush speak on behalf of his favored candidate? I won't hold my breath.

Yes, our leaders must pass in the looks dept. Is this news to you? Also, since when are FReepers so fragile. We've all bashed Nadler, haven't we? Why is it so shocking to remark about how Smith didn't look good and needs to shed a few pounds? What's sad to me is the number of conservatives lost in some idealistic lala land who apparently don't understand how important it is for our candidates to speak well and look good. In this post-Clinton era why am I even having to explain this? Some may whine that it's not fair but it is indeed reality. And I'm interested in reality not fantasy. I'm not endorsing it but its a fact, jack. We need to wake up and get our conservative candidates to recognize this and clean up their act. Smith may be hopeless in this regard at this point.

p.s. I'm also more interested in winning the Senate back than whether we have the most conservative candidate in NH or not. I'd prefer a staunch conservative but will settle for a winner. Sununu looked like a winner. Can't comment on his positions in detail.

The latest polls according to Fox show it a dead heat, with Smith pulling ahead. Sununu may look like the winner to you, but I'm willing to bet at this point who it's going to be. New Hampshire is very conservative, the final debate clearly exposed Sununu for the RINO he is.

You must be young.. I will take that into account. Shallow reasons to vote for a person.. not for "who's best for the job" but much like the soccer moms... Lets vote for Looks (personally speaking.. X42 is ANYTHING but "nice looking"). You need a huge dose of Reality. This mentality is the same type of Mentality that the Self-appointed elitist in Hollywood think their comments matter two-bits. Because they are "beautiful People". What matters to you is more on the "outside".

Matters not one's policy.. just so long as the person taking away your rights is Nice looking. I have never in all my life understood this mentality or mindset.. and never voted on a person based on Looks... but more how they Represent my Personal Ideologies.

and as far as your "PS" goes...
p.s. I'm also more interested in winning the Senate back than whether we have the most conservative candidate in NH or not. I'd prefer a staunch conservative but will settle for a winner. Sununu looked like a winner. Can't comment on his positions in detail.

How you can glorify selling out to the Leftist,Moderates (such as McCain and Snow and their Ilk)Who are selling this country down the shallow river Is beyond comprehension for me.

P.s. Bob Smith may appear to be Over weight on the TV.. But the man has Got to be well over 6'6 his height is Portion to Weight IMO..

I'll take the comment about my purported "youth" as a compliment as I am 50 years old. It may be sad that people judge each other on appearances and how they speak etc but this is human nature. Rather than whine about it, we need to do something about it and encourage young conservatives who can speak and present themselves well to get into politics and win back our country.

"The truth about Sununu is finally rearing its ugly head. First its his pro-palestine votes. Then the radical islamic campaign cash from the SAME PEOPLE who we criticized Cynthia McKinney over. Now it turns out he's pro illegal immigrant amnesty.

Add to this that Congressman Sununu has given up a secure Republican seat in his home district to challenge an incumbant Republican Senator. Bad move.

I found the debate last Wednesday extremely telling when Smith asked Sununu to point to anything that he had accomplished over the last six years in Congress. Sununu's hemming and hawing was embarrassing. Later, when Smith asked Sununu to guess how many pieces of legislation Sununu had written that had became law or that he sponsored in his three terms - Sununu, said he had "no idea", but guessed, "two or three". Smith told him the answer was seven! Sununu was "surprised".

Smith knows more about Sununu's record than Sununu, Smith knows more about being New Hampshire's Senator than Sununu. My support for Bob Smith is not blind - I can see his flaws, but, it's time to send Junior back to the minor league.

Sununu has even refused to join 160 of his Republican House colleagues in supporting a National Right to Work Act, a bill to end forced unionism (which Bob Smith was an original cosponsor of). Sununu supports big labor's compulsory forced-unionism and by default the union's hand-picked liberal candidates for office that are supported by forced union dues.

Sununu has been unconvincing every step of the way imho. His position on immigration alone is enough to make any conservative think twice about voting for him. As soon as the polls started shifting and his lead evaporating, Sununu went negative with his ads after saying he would not, so he simply can't be trusted - and all evidence shows he's a RINO.
