I believe (and I may be wrong) that what the questionnaire said was confusing on this issue, but that he didn't support gay marriage (or civil unions which is basically the same thing) but that he thought there might be circumstances where "domestic partnership" (OK, bad phrase!) might be legally permissable, and cited him and his brother as an example, for legal reasons.

I don't believe for a minute that Bill Simon advocated civil unions for gays or gay marriage. I think that the answer was awkward and that it was mis-understood.

I think that Randy Thomasson and his non-organization only care about destroying conservatives, not about electing conservatives, and they completely misrepresented what Bill Simon said or didn't say. Simon never broke the pledge he signed in the primary, he has always believed that marriage is ONLY between a man and a woman, and he DOES NOT support gay marriage. He came out early on against AB25.

Anyway, that's my interpretation. I don't work for Simon, I'm just a volunteer with a family and job like most of us here on FR. I just feel strongly that conservatives tend to jump all over their own when they falter a little, and I think that's wrong.

You need to apologize Publicly sir. You are so full of crap.

I know Randy personally and he is a man of honor and integrity. He has labored long and hard in the fields for real constitutional conservative values. He has also worked long hours behind the scenes to protect the family and his conservative credentials are impeccable.

Randy has given up wealth and status to protect the values that FreeRepublic supposedly stands for.

Simon stated on the Ron Owens show today in weasel words, that he would be willing to support the (homosexual) domestic partnerships. You can weasel word it all you want but that is what he said.

On KFI Sunday before last, Simon stated that we Californians should also pay for the illegals to have a secondary education just as if they were born here.

I work in the Ca. Health care system and Doctors in Mexico are regularly referring Mexican citizens to Ca. for free health care. A kidney transplant patient was referred here to receive a transplant because the Mexicans know all they have to do is state they have intentions of establishing residency in the state and they will receive free health care. The illegals, have a better health care system free then I and my family do. I have to pay for theirs and mine.

My wife's family is from Argentina. We had dinner with a Dr. from Bolivia it took 15 years for her to migrate and they are appalled at how corrupt we have become. Every Mexican knows this.

I could tell you and document many stories but you won't listen all you care about is the (r) behind Simons name.

Don't you dare besmirch Randy's name you hack.

I will not vote for Simon I will stay home for the first time in 30 years. I will not convert voters and I sure won't sell this to legal or illegal Hispanics. Let the devil take you and California. Here's Randy's web addie http://www.savecalifornia.com check it out for yourself.
