This is the key. In recent memory, from Nixon on, the GOP has expelled those leaders who disgrace their offices with immoral behavior.

OTOH, our Democrat bretheren have tolerated without punishment, to name a few reprobates since 1960: Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy, Hart, Frank, Clinton, Torricelli, et al. They wait for felony convictions before considering harsh action. They are contemptible for this betrayal of the trust of their constituents.

Beckel, of course, is a harmless putz--one of the few men stupid enough to pay $1,300 for oral sex over a three hour period in his home, while telling the prostitute he's rich and famous, then paying her with a check. Sheesh. Maybe he'll be Lieberman's running mate. Or maybe he'll return to Crossfire: on the left, Paul Begala, on the right, Pat Buchanan, and on the come, Bob Beckel.
