I think this is good evidence that wind power is starting to become a viable energy source for providing for more of our electrical power needs. The envirowackos didn't mind advocating wind power when it seemed impractical.

Wind power is and has always been viable. It just isn't economical. Steam ships cost more to build and run than sail ships. But they were more economical. You used fewer men; they went faster and turned around faster, carried more cargo per year than the same, or even larger sail craft. Wind generators are mechanical nightmares. These will constantly be bathed in salt. I don't know of anyone putting these in this environment. The summer will be fine, but who is going to fix these in the winter?

The only reason this is even going to begin to work is because of massive subsidies, and that regular power is online 24/7/365. It is a boutique. Lastly, I am tired of picking up the tab for something that is going to "revolutionize" whatever--20 years down the road. Been there, done that. Let them get their long-term capital from investors. Other than that, maybe they are right. I don’t think so, but good luck to them. I was just posting so that others could use this to show what B.S. the gweenies are with their talk about alternative energy.
