His comments were taken out of context, twisted, and put in the worst possible light. Ray Haynes and Dick Mountjoy are good conservative leaders who are supporting Bill Simon, and I'll stick with them. And with Bill. People who jumped all over Simon were obviously just waiting for one little slip up so they could bail. The fact is, you'll never agree with anyone 100% of the time, but Bill Simon is a viable CONSERVATIVE candidate who understands that to win an election as a pro-life CONSERVATIVE in California, he has to talk about issues that people care about: education, the economy, etc. Simon is our best hope against Gray Davis AND he's head and shoulders above the last Republican governor, Pete Wilson.
Well lessee now. Last October was about as close "to the start" as you can get. I found this little tid bit on his web site from October 11, 2001:
Simon Calls for Davis to Veto AB 25 'Undermines Marriage and the Will of the Voters'
So how many languages can you say, "I was wrong and I apologize for besmirching the good name of Bill Simon?"
What is that? Some sort of pigeon english you be speakin dare? Sorry, but you're really hard ta unnurstan!!! Furthermore, are you sure you understand all you know about this situation???
Seriously, look what you wrote and forgive me if I'm hurting your feelings, but... Oh, nevermind! I don't even know you and maybe it's not your fault. Maybe you're just putting me on and I stepped into it. Sometimes I deliberately write and spell poorly just to irritate the grammer and spelling Nazis, so nevermind.
Thanks for expressing your opinion about Bill Simon. That it corresponds with the message which Gay Davis is trying to emanate should not necessarily suggest anything other than a coinskeedence.
