It's late, but I just finished reading " MARTHA INC." and they did underprice the IPO and it shot way up, upon opening to the public. Then, yesm it fell and is now in freefall. If you want the figures, I'll look it up tomorrow / later.

Like I said, I don't know what the IPO price was. It may have been quite a bit under the original $40 price.
Even so, the stock certainly didn't spike like the other companies (the ones mentioned in the article) did. Its initial trades were at the $40 peak and it's been downhill from there ever since.
I'll see if I can find the original IPO price also.

The IPO was in October 1999 at $18 a share (up from the expected $13-$16 range).
