My reference was to pre-911 policies in which we became involved as globo-cops, skipping around the world from one domestic dispute to another - and then wondering why everyone hates us. I truly hope you don't buy the BS about the a-rabs hating us "because we're a free country." If that is true, why have not other relatively free countries like Canada, Austrailia and Switzerland been attacked?
As I've already stated, we need to hunt down those responsible for the 9-11 attack, but after we mop up the desert with their beheaded bodies, we need to take a serious look at what got us into this mess in the first place - and it's not because of our freedoms. If we start to believe that, then we'll inevitably begin to give up our liberties in exchange for a false security.
Admire my tie?
Orange stripes?
What???
I have to wonder about our "my enemy's enemy is my friend" choice of so-called allies. Seems like they always turn around and bite us in the @$$. Muslims in particular have been the worst. We helped Saddam fight Iran, Osama fight the Russians, then we saved Saudi Arabia and Kuwait from Iraq. We had our own self interests in mind when we did this, but that's no reason for them to turn on us like rabid dogs.
The entire world seems to constantly b*tch about the increase of American interventionism in world affairs. So... I'm very curious to know something: Exactly when did we start this "meddling" and does the time frame coincide with the birth of the League of Nations/United Nations? I think the world's b*tching may be aimed at the wrong target.
