President Bush celebrated Labor Day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania today as he spoke to members of the Carpenter's Union and attended a picnic. In his speech, the President focused on thanking American workers and on strengthening the country through compassion. He also used the occasion to stress the need for a cabinet-level department of homeland defense. Bush also toured the Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Center on Neville Island. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I am almost certain it is Elaine Chao
If so, that would be:
www.dol.gov/_sec
Elaine L. Chao is the nation's 24th Secretary of Labor, representing a new generation of American leadership. Since her confirmation by the United States Senate on January 29, 2001, she has been dedicated to carrying out the Department of Labor's mission of inspiring and protecting the hardworking people of America. She is respected as an effective and articulate champion of the nation's contemporary workforce, acting quickly to focus the Labor Department on the modern realities of workers' lives.
When President George W. Bush nominated Elaine L. Chao, the first Asian-American woman appointed to a President's cabinet in U.S. history, he described her as an individual with "strong executive talent, compassion, and commitment to helping people build better lives."

I have no idea what our local paper prints. I cancelled my subscription some years ago and told the boss's secretary why. She hung up on me! I guess she didn't like hearing that their paper is a leftist rag.

Now I know I have yet another book to buy. David has a good mind...and I really like the book title...How to beat a democrat...-enticing. For sure. I know you have probably already checked out for the night but thanks for the info, anyhoooooooouuu.

The Clinton's adopt a baby. Thank God they changed their minds. Some lucky kid out there is better off living in an orphanage then with those two.

I think he was either facetiously offering help or realizing out loud that The First Gentleman actually knows his way around a hammer!
Great picture!

Thanks for the up-close of the belt buckle! I wonder where it came from. Have other presidents worn one like it, or was it made specially for him?

They also forget that invitation only includes a lot of democratic labor workers who were very pleased to have the President there today.

Seven,
I think he tries to present a professional image and a long sleeve shirt does that better than a short sleave one. Seems silly anyway since he always seems to roll them up.

Most welcome. Thank you for all the great posts.

You're welcome.
Have other presidents worn one like it
I don't know - but it looks a little more Western to me than anything I can imagine on "that man" who previously purported to be a President.
To: ladyinred
That should tell you that there are a lot of democrats on this site. They are bashing the President not the true Republicans on Free Republic.

You both, and so many others are commenting on how good the Pres looks today...
George, darlin' I told yah...now you put a geometric patterned tie, using those two colors...nothing flashy...very tasteful and classy, and you will have the GQ look down, my man. --AND BE GREAT AT IT!
Nice going, W. It's SOOOO wonderful to have a President and First Lady we can be proud of!!! Thank you both!

I hope you can find the drawing. I would like to see it.

Great pictures, THANK YOU
I work with fabrics, my guess is the sweating was due to the fabric content of the shirt.

Thanks so much for continuing with the Psalms! They are truly meaningful!
But I must have missed something. Is FWI on vacation? I hope she's not ill and that everything is ok with her.
