Move over Hillary Clinton. Another left-wing Democratic woman is reportedly eyeing a White House run in 2004 - none other than recently defeated Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney.
The Progessive Review quotes political observer David Weigel reporting that McKinney has been approached by a Green Party activists who see her as a possible replacement for Ralph Nader, who ran for president in 1996 and 2000.
And several Greenies say McKinney is giving the idea some serious thought.
"She's very disillusioned with the Democrats," said Jason Kafoury, an organizer with Democracy Rising, a group that Nader founded. "She's looking at a number of offers, including ours."
John Stith, an Alabama Green activist, told Weigel that McKinney herself floated the idea of running as Nader's vice president. "When I told her that many Green Party organizers may prefer her to Nader for our 2004 nomination, she seemed surprised," said Stith.
Nader is still undecided about making a third White House bid.

I luv it! Please, please, please!I'm still undecided as to who would siphon more votes away from the Deocratic candidate - Nader or McKinney. But I would love to see Nader as the Green Canidate and McKinney as the New Black Panther candidate. It's about time that there are the same number of vote-sucking parties on the left as there are on the right...

Hey, Jason Kafoury of the Green party... just what was your "offer" to Ms. McKinney? I wasn't aware that you need to be offered the job to run for public office. And I'm dying to know what the other "number of offers" are.
And why is she disillusioned with the Democrats? Because of what their principles or platform are.. or that they dropped her like a shoebomb?

The Clinton/McKinney 2004 campaign will get lots of campaign contributions from the PLO, delivered personally by Arafat's wife.
