Sounds pretty sinister to me. Not household stuff, although I don't know anything specifically you can do with that list.

Taking part of what I said back, the ammonium nitrate is practically explosive in itself and needs only fuel oil mixed with it to become high explosive. (OTOH, it's a commercial fertilizer.) Anyway, the girl was either starting a home chemistry course or she was up to no good.

That is exactly what the authorities said. Mixed with fuel oil it will become an explosive known as ANFO.

35 condoms!? Does she like explosive sex? Druggies are always smuggling stuff in condoms. Interesting choice of storage media.

Maybe the powder is just "filling in" for her imprisoned boyfriend?

KN - I remember you showed us how these radicals actually become govt.-like employees managing local enviro laws against farmers, and soliciting bribes from them for permission to build barns and the like. TY.

I recieved more detailed information: ...

Except for the sugar/chlorite mixture, there isn't anyathing really suspicious here. Other than the chlorite, I have all of those items in larger quantities than that. Many of us do. Use them around the house and for work. (Sulfuric acid is used in some drain openers and some other metal, glass, tile cleaning operations, hydrochloric is used in swimming pools, tile cleaners, etc. the nitrate is fertilizer and is usually sold, in the US anyway, in 50# bags, a pint of toluene is just a solvent for anything from lacquer or glue thinning to nail polish removal, Usually mixed with acetone for nail polish, charcoal is carbon.

I'm not sure about sugar/potassium chlorite mixtires, but if it is sugar/postssiumchlorate, it is a very dangerous and explosive mixture indeed. Highly sensitive and unstable as well. This would look very incriminating, as I can see no purpose for the mixture except to cause explosions, possibly for the purpose of initiating a larger explosion with the nitrate.

Actually, if I were of a mind to commit mayhem (which I most certainly am not), These chemicals would not be my choice. There are other substances that are much more powerful, easier and safer to make, more stable and do not require suspicious chemicals of any kind. I've noticed, though, that terroristic types don't seem real bright in the first place. Or ,maybe, the brighter element of dissidents are just able to figure out more peaceful ways to accomplish thier goals.

Not really a high explosive, more like a cheap form of blasitng powder (Black powder made with sodium nitrate instead of potassium nitrate to make its' characteristics more amenable to moving dirt and rock). Still fairly potent in any quantity. Needs a detonator to set it off though, BIG blasting cap, stick of dynamite (preferred), etc.

Pure, anhydrous, amonium nitrate is quite an experience though. Much more impressive than ANFO. D**n hard to keep it anhydrous enough to detonate.

I am sorry, but it seems I mistranslated it. It has got to be sugar/postssiumchlorate mix in the condoms.

In this case she is most certainly guilty of plotting a bombing or bombings.

Very lucky not to have blown herself up in the process of mixing the stuff. Potassium chlorate is nothing to play with.

The storage in condoms might have been to minimize damage in case of an accidental detonation, with the intent being to slip it into a fragmentation case (pipe, etc.) just before use. Possession of a few dozen of these charges would tend to point toward some seriously bad intentions.
