Oh great, now us folks in New England have TWO Patriot Day's to keep track of. Way to do your research, guys.

Deal with it. This is a national day. Maybe New England should change their "Patriot Day" to September 11?

Not a chance, I hope. Patriots' Day in New England commemorates the day that the militias of Sudbury, Wayland, Concord, Lexington, et al, marched off to defend against the British, and fire the "shot heard round the world," beginning the Revolutionary War which gave this country birth.

I remember participating in the annual re-enactment every year on April 19, at Sudbury's Town Common when I was a kid. My dad along with all the other men in the company wearing authentic costumes carried a musket, and we'd all gather on the common, and the men and boys formed up and marched off, while the women and kids, also in authentic costume, would see them off.
