I was in London last summer (just before 9/11) and took the opportunity to buy some Mephistos because -- being EU -- we could save about $150 per pair, compared with US price plus sales tax. I happened to mention to the VERY toffy lady who owned the store (Mephistos being VERY toffy and expensive shoes) how bad the Zimbabwe situation was, and how unfair to the whites, who had been there for generations and were Africans, too, just white ones. And she thought it was A-OK. Fine for her, from her shop near Picadilly. Another European leftist. Too bad, I'd already bought the shoes.
