For those who think it is an anti-enviro nut fight around here may I suggest a few books from the likes of Carl Hiiason(sp?)even Piers Anthony. Most crackers would tell the truth also, if anyone bothered to ask.
There is a universal joke about buying swampland in Florida from realtors. It has been circulating for well over thirty years. The Sawgrass Rebellion does not even come close to Clamath Basin issues.Wrong issue.Bad horse to bet on.The Okeefenokee will eventually prevail.
But I guess the "yankees" will still tilt at windmills instead of reality. ;^)
The entire state of Florida has problems with getting property insurance due to "wind and water" damadge, but by all means, extreme effort must be expended for dumb land deals done by "speculators" going for the cheapest slice of the Sunshine State.
Oh well. Maybe they will flame me instead of summer. She is working hard for Jeb and deserves a break from these folks..
Non-of the land in question is "swamp land" and none of it had any flooding whatsoever until big money interests and huge multi-billion dollar enviro groups decided they wanted what someone else already had. Nearly all of this land was high and dry unitl the ACOE started using flooding as a weapon.
Now, can you both understand this very simple fact before going on about "caveat emptor" or quips about suckers and swampland? That argument is completely non-applicable in this case.
Summer will get "a break from these folks" when she quits advocating that their livliehoods be trashed for agendas. She also might win more friends and influence more people if she refrained from elitist comments such as the following:
Start educating yourselves since you live in your own private Idaho out there.Aug 14 6:51 PM #108 of 185
She thinks the reason we don't want to sacrifice our property for this ill-intended venture is because we don't read the newspapers enough.
Why don't you ping her over here, then we can listen to you both go on about the new green conservatism and how the property owners are getting what they deserve for buying "swampland".
