It's amazing that this piece doesn't mention the craven way the German government freed the surviving terrorists (who were later hunted down and killed by the Israelis) after other Palestinians hijacked a German airliner and demanded their release. The riveting documentary
One Day In September discusses this betrayal, and also alleges that this "hijacking" was merely a ploy that allowed the Germans to release the terrorists without losing too much face. One Day in September is available at most Blockbuster Video stores.
This is an excellent documentary, as is the book.
