When we meet a smart Negro (Powell, Connie Rice) we are immediately fitting them for a cutaway coat for Inauguration Day before we even discover their views on the widest range of issues?

I ain't no damned "Negro." I'm an American black man in general and a serious unhyphenated "American" in particular. Did I say ANYTHING about Rice or Powell winning the Presidency? What the hell are you talking about?

Is that your idea?

Hell no! Did I say that it was my idea? Did I intimate or infer any such thing? You have an overactive imagination.

Toady to blacks with bells and whistles because they aren't smart enough to discern their own self-interest? Is that your idea?

Thank God we're not face-to-face. Again, did I say any of that?

Sowell, Williams, Rice, Thomas and Powell all got it. Parading dancing girls or promising a warm place to defecate ain't gonna do it; it ain't gonna bring anyone over to our side because the other side is promising the world.

This is proof-positive that you didn't click the link I provided in post #7. You went nowhere near it.

And, I'm sorry, but it seems like well-intentioned racism to me. Maybe, maybe I'm wrong. And yes, dear readers, I do acknowledge that nothing is forever. There you go, my friend, is that enough?

Hell no it ain't enough! You aren't even arguing fairly, using your bigoted AND stereotypical rants, and you also refused to address what I said in #7. You have your mind already made up.

Folks, it is THIS BIGOTED DROPPINGS OF AN UPSET STOMACH BOVINE that must be addressed. He does no one on the Right any favors at all.

Normally I would feel sorry for someone like you. But I don't. Naaa... Wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

You sure are emotional. For one thing, I never called you Negro. I used it because it belies the distrust you have in a group that seemingly can't see what is before its own eyes. That's what I'm talking about.
"Hell no! Did I say that it was my idea? Did I intimate or infer any such thing? You have an overactive imagination." It was a question of you. I take it the answer is no.
"Thank God we're not face-to-face. Again, did I say any of that? " Good argument!
Regarding your self-esteemed post#7 : Who the hell do you think owns these issues? The Dems? Are the Republicans trying to hide their support of school vouchers, lower taxes, more law & order etc, etc.? But we have to do something differently to let the African-Americans know these things? Even though the "black leadership" pillories the republicans every single day for pursuing these things?
Major Owens or Owen Majors saying that lower taxes is equivalent to Naziism or Klanism? What do you want to do dude? Buy bigger billboards?
You call me "bigoted AND (accuse me of employing) stereotypical rants." Well, I say, YOUR writings betray a mistrust in your people to understand an intellectual argument. You want the bells and whistles, the shiny cloth and sequins to bring in the rubes. Shame on you.
And, FYI, the thing you want to say is: "I wouldn't piss on you if your heart were on fire!" You have my permission to use it.

I think some misconstrue what it means to do "outreach" to Blacks or any other group. It's very easy to come across as patronizing when trying to reach out to groups you have a history of limited knowledge/contact with. It's very easy to assume that "outreach" means you have to do/give folks certain things based on what you believe they want and like.

Black folks don't need sequins, dancing girls, or any other superficial things to be attracted to the GOP- we need to be treated like intelligent people with needs.

Also, Blacks and Jews are by no means the only ones who vote based on emotions- everyone does it. Who hasn't voted for some candidate or another based on what he/she promised to do about crime? Fear of crime is just that- fear. In case no one noticed, fear is an emotion.
