[history]
Now that Labor Day and its usual politics have safely passed, we can turn our attention to the mid-term elections that are nearly upon us. With the glut of unpredictable factors, from the war on terrorism and the economy to a possible stand-down in politics by the vice president to unemployment and boardroom corruption, outcomes are impossible to predict.

They have no other candidate with the name recognition & money. Who else is there?Did you know who Bill Clinton was before mid-1991 or so? Or who Jimmy Carter was? Name recognition means nothing. And the DNC will support whoever wins the primaries.

I'm worried sick that this woman and that rapist could be back in office in the White House! It's time we put a stop to them once and for all. I say the Attorney General needs to hand down some inditments!

"Hillary is the dangerous Clinton..."
Yea, and imagine what she'll be like when she hits menopause!!

They will re-enter the White House over my dead body. We'll all have to travel by plane, car, train, hitch if we have to, to make certain this evil duo NEVER soils our house again. NEVER!

Hillary is the most liberal of all Senators, and to think of her as running as a moderate is laughable. The sorry thing is, the media will play along, pretend she is, and attack anyone who dare contradict this travesty.
It was she who brought us the moderate Bill Clinton while campaigning by way of Dick Morris. It was all a lie, but hey, whatever works. She is left of Bubba by miles however, no one will be told that, and RATS have a selective memory.
I cannot imagine anything much more devastating than Hillary as President. If this happens, we are doomed as a nation.
To: JeanS
I want to see hilarity run for president as soon as possible because she will be soundly defeated and her thoughts of glory will be forever put to rest. The only question is would she make it to the general election and I even doubt that because the south and west would never go for her, they would pick a "moderate" democrat. Northeastern liberalism is finished, except in the northeast.

Do you other posters know about Wisconsin and Michigan or Illinois?

The Clintons are the "Kennedys for the white trash crowd." ??? I guess I better take that back, I just insulted all the white trash in the country.

The DNC will reward the biggest fundraisers with opportunities to run for office, i.e. McBride in the Fla governor's race. James Carville just happened to call McBride's wife recently to wish him good luck, blah, blah, blah. As if that's the first time Carville ever called McBride. Carville, Clinton and MacAuliffe are all over the Fla. governor's race.
MacAuliffe's father-in-law is McBride's money man, Richard Swann. That's why McBride has no ideas. I think he has a microchip in his head and receives transmissions from DNC headquarters. He can't win on knowing something about one issue, education. He's like a parrot and knows absolutely nothing about other hot button issues.

That there is a distinct possibility of her becoming President, and zero possibility of Phyllis Schlafly becoming President, tells us much about the mental and moral fibre of our country - not that we needed telling.

Thanks for the flag, FV. As always, I find your commentary to be most informative and worthy of note. I also get a chuckle of your understated manner of ripping the lefties a new one. $:-)

Wisconsin, you ask? The Governorship is up for grabs. We've had a Republican (RINO) governor for 16 years followed by a weak Lt. Governor after the RINO was picked for the Bush Cabinet in 2001, and we have a humongous budget deficit left us by the RINO.
The new Gov. is up for reelection in Nov., facing a Dem (to be chosen tomorrow) and a Libertarian or Constitution Party (I think) who happens to be the brother of the aforenamed RINO ex-Gov. He's due to get some sympathy votes from people who liked his brother and it could throw the election to the Dem. Our tax problems are so great that the current Gov has had a hard time getting his message out, although his campaign will not begin in earnest until Sept. 11. I think that he has become much stronger in the past year -- but he still has a way to go.
Wisconsin loses a Congressional seat due to a population decline -- and the Dem that is losing his seat is running for Gov. Neither Senator is up for election.
What to watch? The governorship and the 23rd Congressional District (I think). If any Congressional District flips from R to D, it will be bad, and if any Congressional District flips from D to R it will be good. The state is very evenly divided. More important than the national elections are the state elections. We really need to keep the Governorship and put the State Senate back in the R column.
To: afraidfortherepublic
Thanks for the update. Reno & Mcbride are neck in neck in our governor's race but Mcbride is Clinton's pick. It may rain tomorrow - that will keep the dems at home IMO. Republicans would go vote in a hurricane. We are more driven. Good luck, Wisconsin.

The part I most agree on is the public speaking part. I know the dems don't care how spookey and nasty their candidate is, but she is just downright GLOOMY and depressing to watch.
Makes you want to eat a bullet almost, it's really awful.
