Police find cocaine on Florida Governor Bush's daughter By MIKE BRANOM Associated Press Writer ORLANDO -- Gov. Jeb Bush's daughter was found with cocaine at a rehabilitation center where she is undergoing drug treatment, police said Tuesday.
Police were called to the Center for Drug Free Living in Orlando late Monday, where workers gave them a substance they said they found on Noelle Bush, 25, Police Sgt. Orlando Rolon said.
The workers told police that the two grams of powder tested positive for cocaine, but police didn't immediately arrest her because they couldn't obtain a sworn statement that she was in possession of cocaine, Rolon said.
The investigation will continue, said Rolon, who added that police hadn't interviewed Noelle Bush as of Tuesday morning.
Possession of any amount of cocaine is a felony, said police.
She was arrested in January at a Tallahassee pharmacy drive-through window for allegedly trying to buy the anti-anxiety drug Xanax with a fraudulent prescription.
In July, Noelle Bush was found to be in contempt of court because a worker at the treatment center found her carrying prescription pills. A judge sent her to jail for three days.

interesting timing for this to become public

....wonder what the freeper/"day in the life of"-crowd would say if this had been Chelsea or some niece of Hilary's? There would be chuckles all around and a thread probably stretching into the triple digits of posts.....

Police were called to the Center for Drug Free Living in Orlando late Monday... What timing? It only happened last night. I feel bad for the girl, she's going to be looking at some time in the lock up if she can't stay clean.

Yet another example of the American heirchy.

I wonder how she got the stuff? Poor girl.

I don't find the timing suspicious at all. The cocaine was found 'late Monday' and we find out about it Tuesday morning.
This will not hurt Jeb at all so long as she doesn't get special treatment just for being the Gov's daughter. Many, many families have a member with substance abuse, mental, anger management, financial or other problems, and the voting public understands this. Noelle is a grown girl and needs to get her life straightened out.

Looks like nobody at the private treatment center has the nerve to drop a dime on her. This is the second offense while she's in treatment, joe sixpack would probably be going to jail for this.

True, but it could be from pity as well as power. She's clearly in a bad way, and doesn't appear to be making progress in getting her habits under control.

Oh, right. If this were some black, I don't think the police would have waited until they 'obtained' a statement. They would have thrown his ass in jail!I've lost count how many times Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden got away with it.

I would say this is conclusive. She has a serious drug problem. It's very possible she was raised with no absolutes. Her father is a neo-conservative who doesn't believe in absolutes.
What one generation does wrong, but in moderation, the next generation does in excess.

I have tremendous respect for both the President and the Governor, but these Bush daughters have become an endless source of embarrassment to the family. I think it's time for some old-fashioned spankings.

This might not stick:
Police were called to the Center . . . where workers gave them a substance they said they found on Noelle Bush . . .
The workers told police that the two grams of powder tested positive for cocaineSo, the police didn't find the stuff on her and didn't even test it. Now I guess people at this center have some credibility in court, but why would they go to all the trouble themselves and then not sign a statement?
Color me a little suspicious before more info comes in.

You would never heard about it, if it was Chelsea.
The press would have covered for her,
this could also be a set up by Reno, just something to think about.
Little miss bush needs to get her act together.

Not really, Joe-six pack has been known to get many chances to fix themselves. It is the public notoriety cases when the defendant gets the shaft. Usually someone is only related to a famous person. She has a drug problem, she is in treatment. Drug courts expect lapses, and relapses. As long as she cooperates as to where obtained and how the cocain got into the facility then she has a chance. There is also the possibility that this was a plant. It is not unheard of for one inmate to hide their stash in someone elses stuff during an inspection. I believe this case is in drug court and in drug court treatment is the primary objective. Whatever time she sherves it only becomes significant if she is kick out of the drug court program.

Won't be the last before November. This is what they do.

I wonder how she got the stuff? Poor girl. With huge mark-ups and easy availability people are in line to sell it. She probably bought it from one of the treatment personnel. We cannot keep drugs out of prisons, how do we expect to keep them out of a free society? For more than 25 years we have fought a WOD, and lost. Time to rethink i, and pursue a policy of harm reduction.

She's clearly in a bad way, and doesn't appear to be making progress in getting her habits under control. The only thing clear is that the drugs are still in control.
