A "Different" Way Of Commemorating 9/11 As the world remembers the September 11 attacks, some Muslim and Arab elements are using the anniversary to foment anti-American and anti-Jewish hate. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reports that vicious caricatures of world leaders and Jews have appeared in official Arab press in Qatar, Oman, the Palestinian Authority and the United Arab Emirates in recent days.
In one image, the names of President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair are intertwined with a swastika. Another cartoon suggests that Jews reaped political and financial gains as a result of the 9/11 attacks. "These images in the official Muslim and Arab press," said ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman, "should serve as a warning to all Western nations of the danger that still exists in the region that produced the 9/11 hijackers. The anti-American and anti-Jewish message has great resonance in the Middle East..." Examples of the cartoons and caricatures are available online at .
Moslem religious leaders delivered incitement-laced, anti-Israel speeches on official government television stations throughout the Arab world this past Friday. The United States government service known as FBIS documented these hate-filled talks originating in the so-called moderate nations of Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Qatar. Saudi cleric Sheikh Salih Bin-Abdallah Bin-Humayd chanted the following to his followers: O God, give victory to the mujahidin (Muslim fighters) in Palestine, Chechnya, Kashmir, and elsewhere... O God, destroy the usurper, tyrant Jews, who have spread corruption, killed people, destroyed property, and displaced people. O God, destroy them for they are within your power."
Not to be outdone, Yemens Sheikh Akram Abd-al-Razzaq al-Ruqayhi said, O God, help the mujahidin in Palestine achieve victory... O God, destroy the Jews and their followers O God, shake the ground under their feet, instill fear in their hearts, and freeze the blood in their veins."
An unidentified imam in Qatar provided his flock with examples from Islamic history on "the wickedness of the Jews, who want Muslims to abandon their Koran and their prophet's traditions. He concluded by saying, "O God, use your might to take revenge against the usurper Jews. O God, show them a black day, for they are within your power."
