I am thoroughly familiar with what it takes to be a leader of others. I had some great training - the military. I am not claiming to be an expert - but I certainly know what works and what does not. One of the bedrock principles is that you have a back ground common with those that you are attempting to lead. Reality is, if you dont you wont.
Im waiting for a logical explanation as to how the UN can be lead by a schmuck from a two-bit, third world country. This does not pass the sniff test.
Tomorrow, I hope GWB tells the UN that they really stink.

Mr. Annan was born in Kumasi, Ghana, on 8 April 1938. He studied at the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and completed his undergraduate work in economics at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.A., in 1961. From 1961 to 1962, he undertook graduate studies in economics at the Institut universitaire des hautes études internationales in Geneva. As a 1971-1972 Sloan Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mr. Annan received a Master of Science degree in management.
