Not from the likes of you sonny boy.

Attacking Iraq will be your Suez. The world is looking on appalled at you!

Really? Well the world looked at me (and us) proudly when we returned from the Gulf the first time.

Do you need a number for a shrink? I can help find you one if you need assistance.

Yup. Basically the President put the anti-American bunch that runs the U.N on notice to start cleaning up their indiffident handling of Iraq or get rolled over. I'm pretty confident they won't do what's required since anti-Americanism is bred into the U.N like a hog takes to mud. Therefore there is no question the U.S will act and the rest of the world can't claim later they didn't hear the demands made of Iraq. Its dictator can hope the U.N keeps shilly shallying, but as far as President Bush is concerned, the clock is ticking down for his regime.

"And al-Qaida terrorists escaped from Afghanistan are known to be in Iraq. " (Para. 17, last sentence)

The U.S. Congress has already given it's support for force in pursuit of terrorist sponsors and those who harbor them. Case closed. Thank you Mr. President, well done.

Think about our President for a moment. His words are few, and well thought out, and well chosen. Some like to find fault in his manner of speech, but when it counts he is careful and deliberate - and once again he has the bases covered.

{sarcasm} Not bad for a Yaley with a Harvard MBA. Oh that's right these are highly regarded academic credentials - lots of 'dumb' guys running around with paper like that on the wall ... {/sarcasm}

"...we are very much interwoven with many other countries."

And that's exactly our problem. Trade with other countries? Fine. The Constitution clearly allows Congress to exercise authority over foreign commerce. However, we must distance ourselves from any organization that serves to keep us interwoven with other nations.

"The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible."
--George Washington

The International Civil Aviation Organization? The International Telecommunications Union? The Universal Postal Union? The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea? The World Trade Organization?...

I guess you missed this part of the speech :

America stands committed to an independent and democratic Palestine, living beside Israel in peace and security

This flies directly in the face of God, Who has stated in Genesis 15:18 that the land belongs to Israel. Since He also stated that He would bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel, I see no cause for celebration.

Sing the accolades of your New Age president at the top your lungs if you like. He's destroying the nation through strengthening the UN, dissolving the borders, enlarging the "free trade" treaties that steal your means of production and jobs, and exponentially increasing the power of big government. He refuses to defend Americans by making war against the states who advocate our destruction. In the face of those hotstile powers who are arrayed against us, he intends to keep downsizing the military.

Unless you advocate the advancement of the NWO, I see nothing to celebrate. Enjoy your new Utopia while you can. It won't last long.

OK, so I love a good argument and can't help myself:
Asking Israel to allow the Palestinians an independant and peaceful state is far from cursing Israel. Additionally, even Jesus himself acknowledged the authority of Rome during his times - Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's - and Rome was OCCUPYING the holy land in it's entirety - so arguing that any non-Israelites have no right to exist or, even further, maintain a government within in the holy land seems somewhat narrow. The argument that advocating a peaceful and independant Palestine is against God's will is absurd. Further- what is your answer to the Middle Eastern Question? Do we even TRY to solve the crisis? Or do we simply sit and wait for Armegeddon?

Asking Israel to allow the Palestinians an independant and peaceful state is far from cursing Israel

You assume that the palestinians want a peaceful state. They do not. They only want the standing of a state in order to bring in weapons and establish a greater army with which they think they can drive Israel into the sea.

Those "peaceful palestinians" are comprised of the militant faction of muslims that Jordon kicked out of their country because they refused to live in peace with Israel. They have since been joined by others who believe they are destined to destroy Israel.

Those who were willing to allow Israel to exist either stayed where they were and became Israeli citizens or moved to Jordan when Israel was re-established. Jordan was established to be the palestinian state in the first place.

Further- what is your answer to the Middle Eastern Question? Do we even TRY to solve the crisis? Or do we simply sit and wait for Armegeddon?

We insist that those "palestinians" return to their own state--Jordan--or be absorbed back into the muslim state from which they came.

Armegeddon will come at the appointed time with, or without, our help. The question for us is: Which side will we be on? If we insist on giving the militant muslims a stronghold in the middle of Israel, then the U.S. will be destroyed along with the other nations who come against God.

So we give the Palestinians on the West Bank and in Gaza a bigger, better chunk of land on the East Bank, and Israel suddenly has defensible borders. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan gets an even bigger chunk of land and some oil wells, carved out of Iraq, in compensation. Those lines over there are pretty random, anyway, carved by the Brits in the early part of the last century.

Hard to shame those with no values.

True. Bush didn't shame them. He upbraided them.

He just told the UN we would do it, with or without them.

You may not like it, but we are a member of the UN. Not likely to change soon.

George W. Bush didn't run on a campaign promise to ignore, to leave the UN. If you know a candidate who did, let me report to you that he didnt get elected.

There were these three guys on a plane--an American Indian, a Muslim, and a Texan.

The Indian says, "Once my people were many and strong--now we are few and very weak"...

The Muslim says, "Once my people were few and weak, now we are many, and very very strong!"

To which the Texan chuckled, and replied, "Well, yeah, pardner, but we haven't played 'Cowboys and Muslims' yet!"

Thanks for posting this. After listening to the network news and Peter Jennings tonight, I thought I had heard the wrong speech. They said Bush agreed not to pursue this matter without the UN. How does that synch with,

"Neither of these outcomes is certain. Both have been set before us. We must choose between a world of fear and a world of progress. We cannot stand by and do nothing while dangers gather. We must stand up for our security, and for the permanent rights and hopes of mankind. By heritage and by choice, the United States of America will make that stand. Delegates to the United Nations, you have the power to make that stand as well." ?

After I hear the speech today, I thought it was good. After I heard the network news, I didn't know what to think, now I think it's a good speech again.

Great image! I've down-loaded it to my collection. What I'd like is a bumper sticker with that on it. Ban the U.N.!
