A Decade of Deception and Defiance

Saddam Hussein has repeatedly violated sixteen United Nations Security Countil Resolutions (UNSCRs) designed to ensure that Iraq does not pose a threat ti international peace and Security. In addition to these repeated violations, he has tried, over the last decade, to circumvent UN economic sanctions against Iraq, which are reflected in a number of other resolutions. As noted in the resolutions, Saddam Hussein was required to fulfill many obligations beyond the withdrawal of Iraqi forces from Kuwait. Specifically, Saddam Hussein was required to, among other things: allow international weapons inspectors to versee the destruction of his weapons of mass destruction; not develop new weapons of mass destruction; destroy all of his ballistic missiles with a range greater than 150 kilometers; stop support for terrorism and prevent terrorist organizations from operating within Iraq; help account for missing Kuwaitis and other individuals; return stolen Kuwaiti property and bear financial liability for damage from the Gulf War; and he was required to end his repression of teh Iraqi people.

NEED IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES ASAP!!! FRENCH, GERMAN, SPANISH, JAPANESE, KOREAN, Etc. Particularly JAPANESE.

Nothing on the US Embassy Tokyo site in Japanese about this. They need to move quickly worldwide. What a splendid opportunity to construct a great PR offensive.

(The bilingual webstuff there is too old, annual Terrorism reports, etc, that look to be months old).

Any Freeper that knows of a link to those, or knows where to ask, please step up and post!

President Bush laid out a litany of UN violations repeatedly committed by Saddam Hussein and repeatedly ignored by the UN. This speech was aimed at the U.S. Congress as much if not more than the UN. The case for action has been made and the President has gone the extra mile to appease those who wanted him to exhaust all efforts to get the UN onboard.

Now, they are either with us or they are against us. It was very evident that the President drew a line in the sand. The President took the UN to task and told them to either put up or shut up.

I'm working on retyping the entire document; it should be up in about a half-hour or so (I'm a fair typist).

You should be able to cut and paste from the .pdf document instead of typing it all out. Just hit the Text Select button ("T") on the toolbar, highlight the text and then use the Copy button (looks like two pages side by side, 5th button from the left on the tool bar). Makes it MUCH easier...
