It's on the front page of a UK newspaper.

Not you - last thing I'd wanna do is shoot the messenger here. I'm talking about the brainless writer/editor at the newspaper that printed this thing in the first place!

IMO, mis-information is probably a better description.

Like Rummy said 9 months ago. "Maybe we will tell the truth, maybe we wont."

From the American media, I'd agree. But the British media is so brain-damaged, they'd print the truth even if someone begged them not to...

Have you seen anything today about Putin asking the UN for the ok to go into Georgia after terrorists?
I have been looking at maps and thinking.

I'm reminded of the first Gulf War, where the Pentagon told the news media exactly what we were going to do, and then did something completely different. Sometimes, when the military leaks, they do it on purpose.

Why the hell does Putin need approval from the UN? It's like going to to a cop and asking "Can I go punch that guy over there, please?"
Attack, or dont attack- deal with the consequences later. Although I do not approve of Putin going after "terrorists" in Georgia (known to the U.S. as Chechen rebels), I have more disapproval for the UN and their assembly of thugs, terrorists, and tin-horn dictators.

"British and US special forces are already on the ground in the region and US air force engineers have already relaid three large air bases"It's already started. Remember when over 100 Brit and US planes particiipated in taking out air defenses last week? I bet the turnaround in French, Dutch, and Spanish attitude ( and others) is due not just to President Bush's great speech at the UN, but also due to the fact the we and the Brits already have boots on the ground and the clock is running.

That is the point. Putin doesn't need permission. He does, however, need an EXPLANATION of why he is moving troops into Georgia.

It's on the front page of a UK newspaper? Doesn't make it right! In fact it probably makes it wrong as in "misinformation." Dollars to donuts the Brits will be holding the towel while we TCB. "Just stand over there out of the way. This shouldn't take long." About seven days to occupy Baghdad and Saddam will be eliminated by the locals hopefully(like the Italians took care of Benito) otherwise Saddam will be long gone to Switzerland. Personally I like the Marine Corps Sniper way "one shot, one kill" and we all come home. Semper Fi
