If I found a snake like that in my yard, it would be dead soon after I found it. Only idiots would want something that dangerous. Of course if it happened to eat my dog the idiot-owner would better hope he had medical insurance.

I have a red tail boa, a dog dalmation and a cat. I am fully aware of the danger to my cat. He has stayed away from the snake from day one when he was only 12 inches long. Now he is much bigger. He will get to about 7-8 feet long when he is full grown. He is a great snake. Very docile, however, I am aware that he would eat my cat if he gets the chance, so we make sure that he is secure in his habitat. And well fed. Snakes kill only when they are hungry or feel threatened like any animal.

Smittie got it right.
I can only add that, if it were my dog, I'd drown the snake in Clorox.
