"...Not my idea of a good pet..." I don't go out of my way to stomp snakes, but I won't have the damn things in my house.
Even something as harmless as a garter snake makes itself unwelcome by virtue of its capacity to stink to high heaven.
Those who keep snakes should, at a minimum, be extremely cautious if the snake is hazardous in any way.
And they should have a sh!t-load of liability insurance.
Snake insurance-good idea. On the rare occasion I've seen snake owners out in public showing off their snakes and letting people pet them and hold them and stuff,I've often wondered what would happen if a ten foot Boa started strangling someone. They have amazing strength squeezing things,and it takes several people to pry one from around someones neck.I guess they are usually pretty tame,but the potential is always there. I saw the "crocodile hunter" on TV get into some pretty serious moments handling big snakes.
