Meanwhile, little Tommy Dasshole is trying to block a vote on Iraq.
Course, his official reason is that there is no need to "hurry". Plenty of time to "do it right", don't ya know.
Dasshole, him/itself, should be a national campaign issue. Let those Dems who support him show their true colors. If they dare.

This is
huge news.
I've been following the news on the buildup for many months now, but this is the clearest indication yet that an RDO order has gone out.
This is big, don't be surprised if you hear a stream of deployment orders coming from the Pentagon in the coming days.

For 55 years,
Lajes has been the Crossroads of the Atlantic bridging the gap of the wide open ocean expanse. In most contingencies that required U.S. aircraft and allied forces to cross the Atlantic, Lajes had a supporting role. From the B-17s and C-47s to B-1s and C-17s, Lajes was and will continue to be the fueling station that gets the aircraft and crews where they need to "fly, fight and win."

"There can only be one reason for this step, the transport of large quantities of light materiel that can only be transported by plane, as well as military personnel, to the Gulf region," said the weekly citing military experts. Jerry Nadler could just be going on vacation.

The increase in the number of air corridors from 4 to 20 has two implications. The obvious one is it permits an increase in the total number of flights; hence total capacity. The second is that it permits an enlargement in the number of point-to-point destinations. Aircraft will be coming from airfields that never flew directly to Lajes, Portugal before.
Saddam Hussein probably maintains a watcher service near the key US airbases much like the fleet watchers that were present at Pearl Harbor in 1941 Hawaii. Something is coming for him, and the US is determined to keeping from knowing just exactly what is.
