Illegal immigrants and driver's licenses

Some lawmakers in California want to allow illegal aliens, mostly undocumented workers from Mexico, to obtain driver's licenses on the theory that this will improve road safety. "It's good public policy," argues Democratic State Assembly member Gil Cedillo. "When you're involved in an auto accident, nobody is going to ask for your immigration status. They want to see your driver's license and insurance." Mr. Cedillo is the sponsor of the legislation, and Gov. Gray Davis, who previously indicated he would veto the measure, is being pressured to approve it.

The article fails to mention the "Motor Voter" law. Illegals will get to vote just like American citizens.

If policies like these continue, it won't be long before American citizenship will not be required for public office, just so illegals can be represented in Congress by an elected illegal alien.

the "Motor Voter" law. Illegals will get to vote just like American citizens.

This is the only goal of the lawmakers, such as Assembly member Gil Cedillo, you know. The democRats will get votes this way. And that's all they care about. They could care less that the rest of the people in the State of California (and the entire United States) will end up feeding these people (welfare) and educating them (publik skools) and taking care of them (hospitals). Look at New Mexico, I believe, they are having a financial operating crisis in their hospitals because of all the illegals who have no money to pay for any services.

Shut down our borders!

"Well, they are close to getting their own county..."

Already have. CA prisons are 60% illegals. I say we provide 'em all with similar housing.
