In order to register and activate student voters for the fall election, the Democratic National Committee hosted 200 rallies across the country on Tuesday featuring top Democratic leaders. Apparently, things didn't go as planned.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe was the star attraction at one such rally at the University of Maryland. There he discovered College Democrats outflanked by youthful College Republicans 67-21.

I've never been more proud of my beloved Terps (except, of course, when they won the NCAA Basketball Championship).

Thus, the headline "Another Blow To Democrats"?

Any Freepers there? Would love to hear a first-hand account of this debacle.

If this is happening on college campuses in one of the most liberal states in the country, can you imagine what's going on in the rest of the country?

Can hardly wait for the November elections . . . Top

The 67 Republicans aren't all that big a deal -- of course Terry McAwful would draw those worthies like flies to cowpies.

The real story is that there were only 21 Democrats there.

On that horrible November evening in 1992, as I fought back the tears, I made a prediction that in the long run, Billy Blythe would be the best thing that ever happened to our country. I knew that he would do so much harm that there would eventually be a backlash against the RATS. At the time I didn't know just how right I would be.

The best is yet to come...

One of Marc Racicot's charges was to increase the grass roots effort. I wonder how much input the RNC had in this.

You just KNOW McAuliffe was red-faced and irate! Ha!

Bank, I thought the EXACT same thing, especially when the Bent-One won re-election. At first I was depressed beyond words. But then after his impeachment, I understood why it had to be. Klintoon was a godsend in disguise. . . Top
