Americans have been deluded into spouting the Soccer-Momism about Islam being a "religion of peace." Actually, reading would provide dozens upon dozens of contrary examples from the last year alone.

Maybe someone should post the list of all the acts of terrorism, all done by followers of Islam. You got a Cray supercomputer just laying around ? If you do we can start that project.

This does not mean the all Muslems adhere to this belief, ... If they don't adhere to this belief would they still actually be muslims?

I like Ann. And have decided that I agree with conversion theory. However, Islam does not say or promise peace toward infidels when it talks about being a religion of peace. Here is a good definition of the meaning, and it shows what happens when one believes false doctrines. Things go haywire. From Gabriel Oussani: Grammatically, the word Islam is the infinitive of the so-called fourth verbal form of the regular intransitive stem salima, "to be safe", "to be secure", etc. In its second verbal form (sallama) it means "to make some one safe" and "to free", "to make secure", etc. In its third form (salama), it signifies "to make peace", or "to become at peace", i.e. to be reconciled". In its fourth form (aslama), the infinitive of which is islam, it acquires the sense of "to resign", "to submit oneself" or "to surrender".
Hence Islam, in its ethico-religious significance, means the "entire surrender of the will to God."
So the peace they are claiming is for themselves. Not to us.

Islam really isn't a rip off of Judiasm.Where did the Quaran come from? I've heard it claimed that it was written for mohammed by a jewish rabbi hired for the purpose (don't know if this is true or not, but no one ever sems to challenge the idea). It seems like it is recent enough in history that its' origins should be documentable.

Well, if they needed an expert opinion on religious BIGOTRY, they sure went to a reputable source in Pat Robertson.

I don't know about the 'wild-eyed fanatic' part, but it is the historical record that Mohammed lead raids on merchant caravans (brigand) and murdered people (500 men of the Jewish Quresh tribe). Please notice that CAIR doesn't dispute what Pat Robertson said, they just called his comments 'venomous and hate-filled', but not untruthful.

I thought Robertson was pretty much right on the mark. I'm not a fan of his at all, but it takes a lot of bravery to show just how nasty the koran is, and to tell people it's right there, to read.
That part of what he was was 100%.

In a recent CAIR survey, 45 percent of Muslim respondents said Fox News was the media outlet that exhibited the most biased coverage of Islam and Muslims.Translation: Fox News was the media outlet that told the TRUTH about Islam !!!
To: Stultis
CAIR and AMC are not Muslim civil rights groups. They're front organizations that act as apologists for the likes of Al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah. That's how extreme they are. And here CAIR wants to put criticism of Mohammed off-limits to non-Muslims that no one should ever criticize the so-called "religion of peace" in any way, form, or shape. Criticism of Islam incidentally, is punishable by death in Muslim countries. At least here people aren't fed the politically correct, white-washed and sanitized version of Islam and that's good thing. As much as CAIR would like to, they can't hide the fact that right now Islam is a fascist and expansionist ideology whose evils are on a par with Soviet Communism.

The only reason they are so upset is because Foxnews is the only channel that isn't full of liberal bias. When any liberal wants to bash Christians, they are certainly welcome on CNN, MSNBC.ABC, CBS et al, and no one makes a fuss about it.
Although Robertson isn't my favorite person, he has just as much right to state his opinion on television as Sharton, Jackson, Clinton, etc. These people think they are the only ones allowed to speak what they believe!

"On that program, host Sean Hannity seemed to encourage televangelist Pat Robertson in his venomous attack on Islam and on the Prophet Muhammad."
Simple truth=venomous attack.
