Police in the West Java city of Cirebon have arrested a 36-year-old unemployed man for "raping" five young goats to death, a report said Thursday (19/9/02).
Japans Kyodo news agency reported that Sakadi was arrested a few days ago after he was attacked by locals who were informed of his assaults on the goats by their owner.
The suspect has been charged with an article on abuses in the Criminal Code," said Sunyoto of the North Cirebon Police Detective Unit.
The report said police had initially been uncertain what to charge Sakadi with, as sexually assaulting animals is not covered in the Criminal Code.
They eventually opted to charge him under the article on abuses, following testimonies from the owner and locals who felt concerned by the bestiality.
Sakadi, whose wife reportedly died two years ago, said he had raped goats every night since early September because he could not afford to pay prostitutes.
"Seeking goats is easier and they don't protest like women. And I didn't need to pay," he was quoted as saying.
Censorship Intercourse between humans and animals doesnt get much of a mention in Indonesias laws, apart from a Balinese traditional law that specifically prohibits acts of bestiality.
However, a 1994 government regulation on film censorship mentions sexual intercourse, humans and animals.
Article 19 of the regulation is reprinted here in full because it has the animal intercourse bit and makes interesting reading on film censorship criteria in Indonesia.

Penis Enlargers While still on the subject of sex taboos in Indonesia, its worth noting that sex toys and aids are among the items that people most commonly try to smuggle into the country in their luggage on airplanes.
Penis enlargers, plastic breasts, vibrators, viagra pills and pornographic videos are seized every year by customs officers at Jakarta's Sukarno-Hatta International Airport.
Possession of sex aids can be punished by up to two years and eight months in jail in Indonesia.
Dogs With Jobs Pornography is illegal in Indonesia but pirated pornographic films usually Western titles are widely available in video compact disc (VCD) format, including some that feature bestiality.
Such films, which invariably involve women having intercourse with dogs or even horses, usually have innocuous covers that give the buyer no clue as to the real content of the movie.
Street vendors of pirated porn are generally willing to exchange VCDs that feature bestiality for other titles.
Homosexuality & Cows Scraping the barrel on the subject of bestiality in Indonesia, irrelevantly leads to the East Java city of Ponorogo.
Dede Oetomo, one of Indonesias leading gay-rights activists, says that cows play a commercial role in traditional homosexual acts between old men and young boys in Ponorogo.
He says older married men (called warok) have sex with boys (known as gemblakan) aged eight to fifteen for the sake of increasing their sexual prowess.
According to Oetomo, warok have to compensate the parents of the younger boys with cows or with the use of land.
Well, for a psychotic deviant, at least he's an honest.
If you want on or off this list, please let me know!
This has come about after much badgering by you, my friends and extended family...
