This was so good, I just had to use it (from the White House.gov website, from Ari's press briefing today)
The President began his day this morning with a phone call to Prime Minister Balkenende of the Netherlands. The two spoke for approximately 15 minutes. They discussed the situation in Iraq. The President thanked President Balkenende for the Netherlands' strong support as expressed in a recent speech that was given to the United Nations by Netherlands.
The President also this morning called President Putin, of Russia. The two spoke for approximately 30 minutes. They discussed the situation in Iraq. The President talked about the need to make certain that the United Nations pass resolutions that are firm, that accomplish the goals of disarmament and don't let Iraq avoid responsibility.
Following the meeting, the President met with a group of Republican governors who are in town visiting Washington. And then the President had a meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister and Defense Minister in the Oval Office. During that meeting, the two discussed -- or the three discussed the ABM treaty, the situation in Georgia, as well as the situation in Iraq.
And then the President had a meeting with Senator Phil Gramm and Senator Zell Miller, a bipartisan group that is working to get passed homeland security in the Senate.
The President will later depart for Camp David, where he will spend the weekend.
Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Happened to catch Donahue running film of Pres. Bush mixing up some words. Donahue deserves to have low ratings, the arrogant know-it-all.
To: Miss Marple
Thank God you are ok! I didn't know anything about it until just now. Blessings on you, Mr. Marple and your poor neighbors.
To: NordP
That sounds great. Simon is showing he has a good sense of humor as well as good sense!

Yeah, I've often thought that I wouldn't ever want to be on the other side of that ticked off look! As an aside, the other day during a little press briefing in the Oval Office, a cell phone went off. My God! You should have seen the look he gave that person! Whew! Unfortunately for the reporter, it went off WHILE the President was in the middle of a sentence!

Well, they always did have a thing for despotic dictators who were into mass murder, so it's really no wonder they support Saddam. THAT doesn't shock me as much as them allowing someone to get away with making that kind of remark about an American president. They don't like us, they don't like our president, what makes them think we'll "dirty" them with our money.

I think we should close down every U.S. base in Germany and stop all military personnel in Europe from traveling there. AND we should take all German merchandise out of the BX catalog and out of all the stores. To hell with them and their economy.

I was even angrier when I read Schroeder's lame apology where he expressed regrets over the "alleged" comments of the Justice Minister. There was nothing alleged about the comments at all. I'm with you. Let's think of all the German products we can boycott. Beer comes to mind...

I agree, and mentioned the base closings on another thread. It's our bases and military personnel that allow them the freedom to speak with such rude abandon. Let's pull out and see how brave they are when they have to defend themselves with only France to lean on.

Good to know you are safe. Thanks so much! We live in a fairly hilly part of Ohio, and there is a ridge to the west of town that somehow diverts tornadoes from coming right at us.
They go north and south, and occasionally skip right over town, but don't hit us directly. One tornado about 10 years ago hit to the west, then jumped over town to the east, and took off part of the roof of my kids' elementary school about a half hour after they had been standing in front of the school loading the busses! It was a bright sunny day, too!
Tornadoes are frightful things, because of their unpredictability! Just think.....only 9 houses away from Miss Marple's house! Thank You, Lord for Your protection of her, and her family!!

I went into the store and found several gifts that I needed. Just brightened my day a bit! :-)Neat story, Nea! Seems like our photogenic First Couple are now being used for merchandising! (Good thinking!)
Ask rintense about her attractive get well card from a certain ohio native! :o)

I fell for it. Ok, so you made me jump half out of my chair....so what?
To: SwatTeam
I agree. I am so sick of those crying Europeans. Look at all we have done for them, and this is the thanks we get. Pull all of our troops out and let the bastards go it alone.

I emailed the German Embassy...there are all kinds of links in the "Germany" threads. You can even email Beck Beer...I felt much better after I told them what I thought of them!
To: Mo1
I've seen that before. I needed a new pair of undies afterward.

You're a freeper! You are NEVER alone!AH, yes! But what if my electricity had gone out! I would be here alone in the dark with NO Dose! AARGHH!!!
btw, I heard that the President was quite upset about the idiotic German comments......and I don't blame him! This calls for some Laura TLC, and a listening ear. Bet it's a subject for pillow talk right this very minute!
