ps, read our Declaration of Independence. In 1776 we knew we were Americans. It took the defeat of Cornwallis at Yorktown in 1781 for the British to know it, too....

Intersting that today's UN International Day of Peace coincides with the First day of Sukkot.

I keep seeing all these bumper stickers that say "In case of rapture, this car will be unmanned." ... So your saying, no free cars then, huh? ... Bummer ...Yeah I know. I didn't want anyone to think I believe in that. I didn't mean to be so dry.

You mean like the American Invasion of Canada that was beaten back by a few Canadian border guards and some irregulars?
The war aims of the UK were to hold British North America. This they did. The offending terms vis-a-vis the boarding of neutral ships were dropped before the war.
The Americans wanted to prove themselves a world power. This they did.
Both sides won (a draw) and started 200 years of deep friendship.

Actually yes.

Your image doesn't come through.
In any case, of what concern is my personal beliefs to you?
Do you even know my personal beliefs?

Actually, this picture is assuredly not that of Morgoth. Morgoth (Melkor) was a Valar, and was almost certainly much fairer of face, like Manwe, Tulkas and the others (the image Tolkien had in mind was almost certainly Olympian). Remember at this point, he was still corporeal and very much a physical presence on Arda, unlike Sauron in the third age who was just a formless shape.

Well, it's from Luke "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you" as recited by the angel. "Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb" is Luke (1:42)

LaHaye has already landed a new £30 million deal Pardon me, friend, but around here we use dollars.
reference to a letter in the Wall Street Journal in which a British writer complained about the line "British tax dollars" which had been used in a Journal article.

Okay, here's but one example. When I was a kid, I had a freind who was a &th Day Adventist. Year after year, she told me that she had been told that the " end times " would come on such and such a date. Then she wasn't following what the church teaches. The SDAs set one date back in 1844. When Christ did not come, it became known in church circles as "The Great Disappointment." Following that many left the church (for obvious reasons). The remaining ones returned to study and were re-alerted to the "No man knows the day or the hour" text. I've been SDA for 46 years now, spent a lot of time on the two main college campuses (Andrews and Loma Linda) and neither one has ever set any specific date or even a general time frame other than a general statement that we are "living in end times."
FWIW, Adventists don't believe in the rapture. Personally, I think a lot of them get wound too tightly about some of the ways they interpret Revelation, but they absolutely don't set dates.

I really hate to be the one to break it to ya, but saying Hail Mary's and Our Father's, just won't cut it.
The only way to escape what's coming on the earth is to be a member of the CHURCH. The only way you can be a member of the CHURCH is to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. It's important to remember that Jesus NEVER said, all those of the Catholic church, or Methodist church, or Presbyterian church, or Lutheran church or Mormon church, are the real church. What he said was, "whoever believes in Me and the One who sent Me, they are the members of my CHURCH.
If you don't know how to receive Jesus Christ, read Romans 10:9-10. That's a good place to start. Then, read the Book of John, the fourth Gospel. It talks a great deal about the diety of Christ. Next, read the Book of Ephesians - which talks a great deal about what the CHURCH inherited through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
I also hate to break it to ya, but Mary is not diety and your prayers to her will not save you. If you believe they will, I will pray God will reveal the truth to you.
You can scoff at the "rapture" or "Armeggodon" if you want. That is YOUR CHOICE. Jesus did say, "but the way that seems right to man, will only lead to death". He was talking about eternal death - or eternal separation from God.
However, you should read Isaiah 17:1. When that event happens, FReepmail me and I'll tell you what to do because time will be very, very short.
Time is winding down. If there is anything you really feel passionate about doing, I would suggest you do it.
By the way - if you don't agree with me - that's fine with me. Nobody is requiring you to agree with me.

"there is no rapture"
Well ... you have the right to believe that.
And ... if you believe that, it's highly likely you will not be a part of it. Toooooo bad! It's going to be glorious!
To: nopardons
That's true, but the disciples didn't know there would be 2000 years between several events.
However, Jesus did tell us (the CHURCH), that we would know the times and the seasons. If we are to know that, then we can be aware that the end is near. That still doesn't mean we know the exact day - I agree no one but God knows.
In the Jewish marriage ceremony, only the Father of the Groom knows the exact day - he tells the son, and the son informs the Bride when the day will be. Since Jesus was of Jewish descent, I strongly suspect this is exactly how the rapture will happen.

"it is finished"
Jesus was talking about what had been finished on the cross - it was the penalty for man's sin against God. Adam's sin against God was disobedience. Jesus paid the price for that sin - when Jesus said "it is finished", it meant the penalty had been paid and man was no longer guilty of Adam's sin.
All man has to do to receive that forgiveness is to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; that act of asking for forgiveness entitles man to reap the reward of freedom from sin, for which Jesus has paid the penalty.

"we need to know when the end is near"
If you knew Christ, you would know the end is near!!
To: nopardons
God gave us HIS WILL - it's called The Bible. He also told us that if we belonged to HIM, we would know the "times and the seasons" of HIS coming.
