A very enjoyable read; however I would submit to you that the events you propose all began with the multi-million dollar law suit by the elderly woman who spilled (spilt for those of us in the South) coffee on her legs and sued McDonald's for the cofee being too hot and, of course, won.
Then came the asbestos and tobacco suits which got everything up to speed....The lawyers will bleed us until there is nothing left except their wealth and greed!!!
I would submit to you that the events you propose all began with the multi-million dollar law suit by the elderly woman who spilled (spilt for those of us in the South) coffee on her legs and sued McDonald's for the cofee being too hot and, of course, won.although i never injured myself with mcdonald's coffee; nevertheless, the fact remains that their coffee was just too damn hot.
one morning, a client invited me to go gold mining at his claim at what turned out to be a rather remote location. it took almost an hour to get there.
before we left, we stopped at mcdonald's and i bought, inter alia, a cup of coffee.
d'ya know ... that cup was still too damn hot to drink even when we got there? sheesh.
After what the anti tabocco freaks have done to cigarette smokers this would not surprise me. I really think that was the testing ground to go after gun rights.
