Israel will have more firepower in the mid-east than we will should a war break out with iraq. Not only that, we are staging massive amounts of military hardware in in Israel as we speak.

IMHO, if the war broadend beond Iraq, the US and UK will not be able to handle it without Israel's involvment. And... I think we are counting on it.

The military conflict ahead will NOT broaden beyond Iraq because the US has gone to the UN and clarified the intent. Like ten years ago, an international coalition which aligns the interests of Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait is possible. It should be obvious that Israel is incapable of coalition building. All the more reason for Israel's gov't to back off and let America lead.
