I have been wanting to meet some local freepers for some time now, but I have never been able to find the time. I missed the thing last night, since I was working late. Don't know if I can make it today, as I may have to work late tonight, too. I am perpetually chained to the computer madly banging on the keys, which is why no freeper has ever seen me in person.

On the other hand, I am well acquainted with the leftist crowd, and know some of the personally since I frequent the same watering hole as some of them do. I know a lot of them don't work, and have endless time to protest.

The only problem with meeting fellow Freepers is that you'll invariably like them and won't be able to badmouth them anymore on the threads without a twinge of guilt. ;-)

On the other hand, maybe they'll like me and the reverse will also be true? :)

Well, it hasn't worked for me. I met HoustonCurmudgeon for the first time a few weeks ago, and while I think he's a hell of a great guy, he continues to abuse me publicly.

Some things never change. But I'm at least hoping that he feels guilty about it!

Looks like God protected Texas from Isidore! I am grateful that my home in Lake Jackson was spared! The fires here on north side of Claremont, in the Angeles national Forest/San Gabriel Mountains is still burning. I can see the flames from my back door, at night. I pray for all the residents in that part of town and the firefighters' safety! I hope they can save MOST of the homes, I know some have already been lost. It is eerie at night to look to the north and see what looks like the flames of hell all across the mountain range. There was a bear in La Verne the other day, and coyotes are coming into town to escape the fire. But we always have coyotes here.

I hope your freep event goes well in Houston today! I know we wondered if the hurricane would be there, and cause the freep event to be cancelled. Looks like it is ON for today! Good! Can't wait to see photos! GOD BLESS YOU!

Don't worry about it HoustonCurmudgeon takes his handle way too seriously. You have to choices, either stand up to him or develop a thicker skin. It is a shame that some have trouble playing well with others and forget who the real enemy is. Hang in there.

URGENT! I'm listening to Chris Baker - KPRC. He opened his show with a live phone interview with Jimmy Dunn - a local gay activist who is going to protest Bush today.

Clearly Chris has no idea about OUR FReep of the pinkos and I've been trying to get thru to him since the show started.

I've also tried COB's cell number, but no answer. IF ANYONE IS GOING OUT THERE, PLEASE TELL COB TO CALL KPRC OR ME TO GET AIRTIME!!

Too late. I just got thru and they've changed the topic. I BEGGED Mike to plug our rally but he didn't give me much hope. Said if they did it for us, they'd have to do it for everyone. I argued that they've ALREADY plugged stupid Jimmy, so why not us too??? He said, "Wellllll, we'll see."

grrrrrrrrr.

Can't wait to hear about the Freep from those who went today!

Heard something great today on the Fox News Channel show John Gibson has in the late afternoon.

He read e-mail from a viewer on the topic of Tom Daschle:

"The only time a Democrat opens their mouth is when they change feet"...:)))

Got home just in time for the 6:00 news on all three local stations.

Channels 2 and 11 had excerpts on the speech by President Bush, but only a general shot of the protestors. No mention of Freepers or interviews with either side.

Channel 13 news (one hour long) had a few minutes of live coverage of the speech of President Bush, and a different vantage shot (closer view) of the protestors. A recognized one from Election 2000. They mentioned about 250. No mention of Freepers or interviews with either side. They said more coverage on the 10:00 news.

I was asking around, but I wasn't able to hook up with y'all. I looked around for anyone with a sign, but unfortunately I didn't see any. I ride a motorcycle, so unfortunately I was unprepared with no paper for notes, camera, or sign of my own.

I would estimate between one and two hundred people. I arrived a little after 5pm, and there was a crowd inside some small barracades and a lots of people leaving work.

There were the usual signs, such as "No War For Oil" and "Bush is State Terrorism" or something like that. As well, there was the required other causes represented, such as the Green Party, other garden variety environmentalists if you'll excuse the expression, anti-capitalist protesters, Food not Bombs, etc. Lots of posters of Muslim babies. Conspicuous by their absence was anyone in a burkha or any posters of Israeli babies.

The mob had a few chants, and rose up with an cheer when someone would honk driving by. After loitering around, they finally had their march down to the park. That was about the time I decided to go.

Since I didn't have a sign, I did my part by walking through the crowd laughing and burping when anyone cheered: "What do we want? Peace! When do we want it? Now!" *burp*

If you saw a white guy with short hair, in a red motorcycle jacket with a black helmet, jeans and cowboy boots, that was me.

Next time I'll try to be prepared. ;)

Well, as usual, we were under-represented.. about a hundred to one..
But we made the best of it and were proud to Honor our President
and counter the leftists. I won't call them freaks, I shall let
you decide for yourselves:

Reppywhines-the-Clown was there...

But so were the Good guys. .Dix & COB1 display the Colors

The Police were friendly to us and Saluted the Colors

The peacenicks were an.. errr.. interesting lot

We were joined by a couple of random Patriots, one
of whom lurks at FR!!!

And to cap off the day, my truck got towed, and is still missing.

Note to self: Read what is written on the parking meter POLE.

Thanks to COB1 for the ride home!
