HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) - Teasing a dog can get you more than a nasty bite. A 21-year-old man ended up in jail Friday when he messed with the wrong canine.
The man was gesturing at officers trying to tow a vehicle, said Hastings Police Sgt. Dan Losada. He said the man also barked at a police dog named Wojo.
The dog began to bark back, and officers warned the man to stop. He refused, and ran when officers tried to arrest him.
Officers caught up to the man and arrested him for harassing a police dog and obstructing a police officer.

They should have just turned the dog loose and let it settle scores with the idiot one-on-one.

The arrest wasn't made for insulting the dog. It was made for evading arrest.

Police hounded the man as he flea-ed on foot after in-cur-ring their rabid attention.

Really, where was the insult? I bark at dogs all the time.

He said the man also barked at a police dog named Wojo. Here you had me thinking you were busy with our activities, meanwhile you're farting around with tow trucks.
I don't wanna hear anymore of that "I'm tired" crap.

The dog began to bark back, and officers warned the man to stop. He refused, and ran when officers tried to arrest him. The man was arrested for barking like a dog, at a dog.

Patently false, even according to the story as written:
...arrested him for harassing a police dog and obstructing a police officer.
There is absoluetly no mention of any charges related to resisting or evading arrest.

"...Officers caught up to the man and arrested him for harassing a police dog ...This country is in deep, deep dog doo-doo libertywise.
Why not let Rin-Tin-Tin handle the dialectic on his own---without the human prison bureacracy?
If he's schutzhund-trained he will be able to handle his harasser in a timely, humane and efficient manner. The taxpayer will not have to foot the bill for any crappolla

Officers caught up to the man and arrested him for harassing a police dog and obstructing a police officer. Woofing at a dog is considered harassment? How can they tell? Maybe he was complimenting the dog.
The Pet Psychic should be called to testify in this case to find out what the guy was woofing.
