The race distribution of homicide victims and offenders differs by type of homicide

For the years 1976-99 combined -

• Black victims are greatly over represented in homicides involving arguments or drugs. Compared with the overall involvement of blacks as victims, blacks are less often the victims of sex-related homicides, homicide by poison and workplace killings.

• Race patterns among offenders are similar to those among victims, except that black offenders are involved in a relatively large percentage of felony-murders (nearly six out of ten).

Although slightly less true now than before,
most murders are intraracial

• From 1976 to 1999 --
  • 86% of white victims were killed by whites
  • 94% of black victims were killed by blacks
• While 38% of intraracial murders involve offenders under age 25,
  half of interracial killings involve younger perpetrators

Stranger homicides are more likely to cross racial lines than those that involve friends or acquaintances

For homicides committed by --

• a friend or acquaintance of the victim, 1 in 10 is interracial
• a stranger to the victim, 3 in 10 are interracial

Why is this interesting?

How about blacks murder whites 2-10 times higher (percent) than whites murder blacks.

Or

Blacks make up 13% of the population yet cause 51.5% of the murders.

Since the above stats are not PC I do not expect them to be reported in the main stream news.

Some people have made the extremely politicially incorrect claim that America doesn't have a gun problem, it has a black problem. The gun grabbers make the claim that certain types of guns should be banned because they are more often used in criminal actions than other types of guns. If one accepts this line of reasoning - I do not - and then one looks at these statistics, one arrives at an even more politically incorrect conclusion. My own interest in the subject is in using this conclusion as evidence against the prohibition of certain types of guns that have higher criminal use rates.

The interracial crime statistics are interesting too. Despite the hype about James Byrd and his murder by those Jasper, TX monsters, white on black crime is much less of a problem (4%) than black on white crime (20%).

I think these statistics show that the alleged "race" problem in America is really a "fear of crime" problem.

and if crime is related to poverty, what about all the poor non blacks who are not represented? I think the core of the problem of the blacks represented here stems from being indoctrinated into believing they have no power, that the deck is stacked against them, and they can't get anywhere without a handout. If you are going to move forward, you have to accept responsibility for getting yourself to move.

Does anybody have access to European murder rates?

I would suspect that the European murder rates are similar to US white-only murder rates. This would take a lot of the wind out of the sails of the gun-control crowd, as the high US homicide rate is largely concentrated among a subculture that includes (but not exclusively) young, black, males in the drug trade.
