BILL O'REILLY, HOST: In the unresolved problem segment tonight, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has been reelected by just a few votes. And there's no question he would have lost if not for the far left, which rallied to him after he said Germany would not help the United States remove Saddam Hussein.

What's most interesting about the whole discussion of the German-U.S. tensions is the failure of the press or the governments involved to mention the assistance to the weapons of mass destruction programs that Hussein gave.

It's not really all that surprising. At least we now know why Germany is opposed to attacking Iraq if they don't expose and destroy their weapons of mass destruction. Germany provided them with the technology and is maybe still supplying the aluminum components.

The truth is Germany just doesn't care, especially if it threaten the state of Israel.

If Germany gave Iraq WMD or special assistance to create them, then Gerhard Schroeder deserves a pipe bomb shoved up his @ss courtesy of the Mossad..... I have no fear that they have the cojones to do it either.

Schroeder's storm troopers (and the "Green Weenies") have been making noises reminscent of the Nazis all during the debate over disarming Saddam. Very curious, indeed.

Did you hear that German representative on Brit Hume, yesterday. The guy was trying to spin the situation of US/German relations, and he claimed that Schroeder would likely soften his stance and help out in other ways, like allowing the use of military bases and fly-over permission. Brit asked,"What bases, you mean our own bases?" The man said, "yes," like that was some kind of concession. I say, let Russia use our bases for a while to moniter the German militarization.

So what? USA sold helicopters (gunships) to Iraq in the 1980's.

Gave Stingers to the Taliban in the 90's.

What country is innocont of arms dealings?

I didn't know that we had German planes on our air bases. That should be the first thing that we do, before we pull our bases out of Germany.

First, I don't think that helicopters are considered weapons of mass destruction. Second, Germany has been claiming that we have no proof that Saddam has weapons of mass destruction. Their Greens keep whining, "Show us the proof." Third, their punishment for the technology transfers was very weak but at least, it rated more than what Bernard Schwartz got under Clinton. Schroeder is a Clinton clone.

You can't be serious. You can't differentiate the relative dangers to the U.S. of stingers and helicopters from components of nuclear weapons?

While you're at it, I'm betting Home Depot sold them some saws and Office Depot sold Iraq some scissors.

First: they weren't when they left California, but Iraqi modifications may have twisted the definition of WOMD particularly amongst those who had a thought or two before the Iraqi gunships killed Iraqi.

Your other points: I do not trust contemporary media reporting of government p.r. Many layers of liars.

Please use your imagination. US helicopters with fittings for agri spray tanks sold to Iraq. Iraq buys spray tanks. Iraq modifies spray tanks. Iraq installs mod tanks on helis. Iraq buys/makes liquid air dispersable poisons. Iraqi dissidents see/hear helis in the sky. Iraqi dissidents found poisoned dead.

Ain't modern technology wonderful?

As a frenchman, I interpret this as another proof among dozens that these Germans are just Johny come-latelies constantly running after fashions set by the French,

Selling nuclear technologies to rogue regimes... God, this is so 1977!

American jets shoot down Iraqi helicopters before they leave no-fly zone, where Iraqi dissidents are. Use a little more thought please.

Once read a book about the role of German corportions in the lead-up to both world wars. Think it had "Krupp" in the title, as in the Krupp family, who was big into arms production and sales.

Long before Hitler fixed bayonets on the Jews, German corporations dreamed up and persuaded their government to let them run concentration camps---basically, camps for slave laborers in their factories.

It was German corporations that thought up the initial "Nacht und Nebel" program, that is, going around under cover of night and fog and nabbing people to be transported to the labor camps.

Hitler just picked up on a system already used by German corporations and elaborated on it for his "Final Solution," the extermination of the Jews.

BTW, Algore's father was mighty friendly, and, if I recall correctly, obtained much of his wealth through a relationship with the patriarch of a big German arms-dealing family.
