The Maryland Handgun Roster Board will meet this week to determine which firearms will qualify for sale under a new law requiring integrated safety devices on handguns, as gun sellers complain that the vagueness of the law will hamper compliance and hurt sales.

So now an appointed "board" with absolutely no accountability is going to decide what guns they will ALLOW people to buy/own in Maryland. I guess Dianne Alden is right: We are living in Post-Constitutional America. What is it going to take to redefine LIBERTY as the Founders defined it?

"We have no intention of imposing a de facto gun ban on Maryland's firearms dealers or citizens," Col. Mitchell said. ..."but hey, if it happens, it happens..."

Al Rolinec of the Gun Rack in Burtonsville said that right now only a handful of manufacturers make guns with locks, and that the key is universal for all guns of the same type. "There is nothing like a unique lock for each gun," he said.I bought a new S&W revolver this past summer, and it has the internal lock. I thought the "key' was probably universal, so what you have posted does not surprise me. Maryland gun laws are a joke insofar as advancing the cause of gun safety. They do however further the agenda of our far left Governor and our Attorney General, who has said publicly that his goal is to ban private ownership of guns in Maryland.

"We have no intention of imposing a de facto gun ban on Maryland's firearms dealers or citizens," Col. Mitchell said. "Slaves, Jews, guns, whatever," said Col. Mitchell. "I follow my orders. Ethics, morals are for other authorities to decide."

Why is it that tyrannical martinets don't seem to get past the rank of colonel - Colonel Mitchell, Coloneo Khaddafy...

I said it before and I'll say it again: We are past the point of no return in the struggle to regain lost liberty through peaceful means. The only question left is will we use the means we still have as an armed society, or will we simply march into the ovens voluntarily? I am not so sure of the answer.

The next 50 years will tell the tale whether America survives as some sort of Republic, or it goes down the path to its own destruction. We are already in what Dianne Alden refers to as "Post-Constitutional America" - it only remains to be seen whether any liberty can be salvaged.

What is it going to take to redefine LIBERTY as the Founders defined it?You don't want to know.

At least three generations of totalitarianism.

The thing I find crazy is that most guns sold today already have a "integrated mechanical safety". It's called a trigger.
I personnaly never have seen a gun fire without someone manually operating the "integrated mechanical safety" call the trigger.

Your screen name tells it all. I was wrong when I said that there is no peaceful way to regain lost liberty; there is ONE way to do it and to simultaneously reduce the power and authority of government tyranny: a massive tax revolt. The criminals in Congress and in every state legislature derive their power solely from the money which they steal from the citizenry every year. Cut the tax buden in half, and you cut the power of these miscreants by half. There is no other peaceful way.

At least three generations of totalitarianism. Christ, that's scary
To: Beenliedto
It is. However, most people don't realize how much has been given up already, and they are screaming for more security. I figure it will take a few generations for people to forget the bad old days when criminals roamed the streets having shootouts before the government took over and made everyone "safe." Once that happens they will realize the abuses the state heaps upon the people in order to keep them "safe" really don't make them safe, and they will (hopefully) revolt.

There's also something called a SAFETY which disables the "integrated mechanical safety" (the trigger).
