Please support   Leon DeVose and his ticket  for Montclair, NJ City council.  A Conservative and  man of faith who supported Bret Schundler and  home schooled his children.
I am a candidate on the EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT slate in the Montclair town council elections.   Our campaign wants to replace all the incumbent elected officials on the township council.   I believe they have either failed to act on many key issues, or have made crucial errors in judgment and missteps that in some cases created major lawsuits.

Some of these issues include: Hahnes, class size, parking, plane noise, Marlboro Inn/excessive development, etc. etc. etc. ...........

The incumbents just do not deserve to be re-elected to office.   Below, is some background information on the Effective Government campaign.  You can also go to the web-site to get a full compliment of platform and candidate background material at: www.eg2004.com.

On May 11th, I'm asking you to help me out or tell your Montclair resident friends to help me out by supporting:

Margaret Reed Mukherjee  -  for  Mayor
Leon De Vose -    for At-Large
Jordan Solomon -  for 1st Ward
We also ask you to vote for these other non-incumbents running who can help us govern effectively:
Thomas Russo
2nd  Ward

Monica Abbott
3rd Ward

Sandy Lang
4th Ward

We can use your help.  If you believe as I do that a change is needed, or if you do not live in town know Montclair residents, we may want to put a campaign sign out on your or their lawn.  Please get back to me about this.   We can also use help reaching out to others in town.  I hope you will feel free to forward this note on to others. Also please let e-mail or call me if you want to participate in a more active and direct way.

Please help us get out the Montclair Vote on May 11th and please read the information below and at the site  www.eg2004.com .

And please be sure to pass it on!

Good Evening All-

Coleus, thankfully I've moved away from Montclair...which is probably slightly to the left of Ithaca! The only person still in that geographical area is a misinformed cousin who voted for Gore, Clinton (twice), Dukakis, and Carter (twice).

Each town running along Bloomfield Avenue is absolutely in need of a local government makeover. What they're collectively doing now clearly isn't working. Those towns are so behind-the-times, I would vote for new blood...regardless of the party affiliation of the incumbent.

NEW JERSEY NRA MEMBERS! PLEASE VOICE YOUR SUPPORT OF NEW JERSEY'S BLACK BEAR AND NUMEROUS PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE GAME CODE!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the State Museum in Trenton, a public hearing will be held to consider changes to the 2004-05 Game Code, including the black bear hunt.

The hearing will also address issues such as season dates, bag limits, permit quotas, and hunting procedures, so it is critical that hunters attend and voice their opinions.

Again, the hearing, hosted by the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, will address proposed changes to the Game Code for next year. The hearing is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8 at 6:30 pm at the NJ State Museum. The black bear hunt will be discussed. To review proposed changes, click on:

SCHUNDLER IN DEAD HEAT WITH McGREEVEY
Leads All Other Republican Candidates

Many of you may remember several polls that were released in recent months stating that Bret Schundler can win the 2005 Gubernatorial election. Last Week, another poll released by Quinnipiac confirmed what the other polls have indicated…THAT BRET SCHUNDLER IS IN POSITION TO BEAT JIM McGREEVEY IN NEXT YEAR’S RACE FOR GOVERNOR!

The Quinnipiac Poll also shows that Bret Schundler is the strongest Republican candidate in a head to head match-up with McGreevey. The poll shows that Bret is within the margin of error specified for the poll…and…. that 56% of New Jerseans want someone else besides Jim McGreevey to be their Governor. Another important fact that is revealed is that almost 20% of voters are undecided, and in a race when an incumbent is involved, undecided voters tend to ultimately break for the challenger.

Fiscal mismanagement and out of control property taxes also come in to play. The Quinnipiac Poll indicates that 61% of voters disapprove of the way Jim McGreevey is handling property taxes.

It all adds up to make perfect sense. Jim McGreevey has been spending your tax dollars wildly and borrowing money faster than ever. Local property taxes are soaring because of his wild borrowing and spending.

Then on the other hand… Bret Schundler has been leading the fight to bring more of your tax dollars back to your community to lower your property taxes. Bret has also been leading the fight to block Jim McGreevey’s irresponsible and un-constitutional borrowing.

The voters of New Jersey are seeing a clear picture. Jim McGreevey equals high property taxes…and Bret Schundler equals real property tax reform.

Indeed, these poll results say that if Bret does continue doing what he is doing, he will very likely be New Jersey’s next Governor.
I encourage you to share this information with as many members of your organization as possible – and look for Bret’s new campaign web site coming soon. www.Bret2005.com

Kindly give this petition your attention so we can all help our friends at E3 (Excellent Education For Everyone).
Thank you,

SCHOOL CHOICE ALLIANCE LAUNCHES STATEWIDE PETITION DRIVE

The New Jersey School Choice Alliance is holding a statewide Petition Drive from October 10th through the 17th.

You can download petition forms, or sign up online at their website SchoolChoiceAlliance.org. To sign the petition, you must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of New Jersey.

The goal of the petition drive is to show that there is broad support, from a variety of constituencies, across the state for the concept of school choice and parental empowerment. The petition reads as such:

I, the undersigned, am a taxpayer and resident of New Jersey. I believe that all children are entitled to a government-funded education through grade 12, regardless of race, creed, color, disability, economic status, or address.

I believe that it is parents who are best suited to determine the most effective option for educating their children, and that funding for education should follow children to the school of their parents' choice.

I believe that it is the quality of instruction, not just the quantity of money spent, that guarantees a thorough and efficient education for every child.

Therefore, I request that you, my legislative representatives, adopt a parental school choice program that offers viable options for students to attend traditional public schools, charter schools, nonpublic schools, or home schools, according to their needs.

Show your support for School Choice in New Jersey. SIGN THE SCHOOL CHOICE PETITION!

also,  please consider signing these petitions:
