now I'm beginning to relax.
McLawyer's entire candidacy (and campaign) has been much ado about nothing.

DO NOT RELAX!
The spin is that McBride didn't practice for this debate- hence his stumbling performance- and that Jeb did multiple mock debates before Friday- no wonder he was so polished.
McGoober's handlers (union bosses and trial lawyers) will ensure the next matchup is more even- even if they have to plant post-hypnotic suggestions to do it!

PS From

002-AUG-23: FL: Governor Jeb Bush says Muslims have a right to safety: Governor Jeb Bush talked via a conference call with leaders from various Muslim groups and law enforcement officers in the state. This may have been prompted by the discovery of a massive cache of explosives and a plan to blow up a Muslim education center in the state. He then issued a statement saying that:
"People should not have a fear of expressing their faith. Those who send their children to religious schools or who pray in mosques, synagogues or churches have every right to practice their religion in a peaceful and safe environment. My message today is to assure all Floridians that persecution of people based on their faith or nationality will not be tolerated."
Altaf Ali, CAIR-FLA Executive Director of the Florida office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) commented: "Such a public demonstration of support will send a strong message to those who may intend to attack the Muslim community, that acts of terrorism will not be tolerated in Florida."

the 3rd and final debate will be on television and moderated by Tim Russert.I can see it now--McBride will be more tongue tied than ever when his hands are shackled out of camera range. Imagine how squinky his eye will be then!

He was really more horrible than I could have imagined. Between his blinking eyes and his hands always moving -- I thought he
looked
like
he
was
playing
3-Card
Monty.

I thought he looked like someone had sewn rubber gloves filled with Jello to his cuffs.

.this idiot could have been calling balls & strikes at a baseball game. He was a moderator, not a judge. His job was to be impartial. I'm surprised he even went as far as he did.

The most interesting comment I've heard about the debate was the observation that, if you read a transcript without any names or party affiliations listed, you'd have thought Bush was the Democrat because he pointed with pride to new spending at almost every opportunity.

We have to retrain the brainwashed masses to see their govenrment as more than a provider...as it is now, people vote on what they'll get. You know Jeb's no liberal. The CATO institute and WSJ had this to say:
Wall Street Journal Commentary..rates the governors, Jeb's a winner!
***Jeb Bush of Florida is the real tax-cutting fiscal conservative in the family. In a state with no income tax, Gov. Bush has cut the Florida property tax by $1 billion, and in 2001 he cut the business intangible tax by another $600 million. Earlier this year he took the unusual step of walking the halls of the Capitol himself asking members of both parties to oppose a sales tax hike sponsored by members of his own party. Mr. Bush has also distinguished himself by promoting one of the most innovative choice-based school reforms in the nation -- a plan that allows students in failing schools to go to any public or private school of their choice -- and by enacting tort reform legislation fiercely opposed by the trial lawyers.
You know this of course, because I've posted the same info to you in the past, but if you need reminding daily - I'll remind you daily.

McBride "flubbed several lines, offered halting opening and closing statements, delivered mostly in a drooping monotone, and did little to silence critics who accuse him of lacking substance." (Miami Herald) Ping!
Thank you for the updated endorsement list. Our Ft. Myers News-Press needs factual info on Jeb for their political webpage. (^:

DO NOT RELAX! Well, I didn't mean relax as in assume victory. But it's nice that the anxiety level can drop a little.
On another note I'm continuously amazed at the total abscence of smart, articulate, knowledgable and attractive Democrats. What happened to that party? Not only do they not have anyone similar to FDR or Truman now, they don't even have someone comparable to Hubert Humphrey!
To: summer
LOL. I've seen some pretty clever people playing three-card monte in Manhattan. Doesn't sound like McBride would last five minutes trying to run that scam!
To: summer
Sure it's lame- but they have to say SOMETHING to explain his inept performance. What bothers me is that by saying this- they telegraph that they will make SURE he has his act together next time.
And you saw the media reports- they made it sound like McBride scored points- David & Goliath, folksy, man of the people and all that- and that Jeb was "too smart"...... made me wonder if I saw the same debate they were reporting on.
To: jalisco555
I believe the key is going to be turnout in Republican country- SWFla, Panhandle, Duval, SE Fla north of Palm Beach- and then convincing the blue dog Democrats and seniors that McBride is going to mortgage their future, increase taxes and cut services to pay for his education "plan".
If we relax, Jeb's key voters will stay home- and we'll be overwhelmed by the multitudes of union/liberal/black voters in the Peoples Republic of Dade-Broward-Palm Beach.
I absolutely agree with you about the quality of the new Democrat politicos- they are appalling. Shallow, one note, disingenous, cynical-- the new democrats are no longer the loyal opposition they once were. It's pitiful.

"you could tell mr ruth wanted to give kudos to mcbumbler but he couldnt do it and it was killing him. he knew he was terrible"
Oh, I think Ruth is going to have to have surgery before this is over. He sounded like his was going to upchuck his hernia. For all of the first debate performances in Florida history, that had to be the worst. By the way, I'll update everyone when (and if) I get to go to the first Katherine Harris debate. That one will be a hoot too!
To: summer
Summer, it's scary but the only people who haven't figured out that McLawyer's support is a mile wide but a knat's butt deep is the media. They are praying for another election fiasco, but with the federal overseers coming in, the demorats can't fix things as easily. Unless of course they bring in Nelson Mandela as the director of the election oversight. Then Jeb's screwed, LOL.
To: jalisco555
Relax. The demorats have a larger problem. McCalextortionist, the DNC chariman, has stole, er procured all of the money for their new HQ. Under his watch I OFFICIALLY PREDICT the rats will lose the Senate and the GOP will have a 3 seat majority, the rats will LOSE 5 seats in the House and the governorship of Florida will be solidly in the GOP's hands. Along with even more county seats AND the state houses. This tactic of linking Jeb to his brother and attacking him on the DCF issue will backfire as most of the people in the DCF were hire under Walking Lying Chiles watch. This will be a very good November for the GOP and even though I am not a party member (I quit when that moron DOLE wouldn't even accept volunteers down here in the Sunshine State) I can see a new conservative "revolution" occuring. Senators Neville Daschle, SD and Robert Quisling of WV have guranteed a major backlash against the rats. Thank you very much you liberal morons. Newt would be proud.

"McGoober's handlers (union bosses and trial lawyers) will ensure the next matchup is more even- even if they have to plant post-hypnotic suggestions to do it!"
I hate to be pick but it's:
McLawyer
I disagree. His handlers are DNC Chariman McExtornist's friends and they are clueless about Florida politics. They are assuming all of us live in Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm or Miami. A big news flash to the demorats. Most of us do not live there and thus why the GOP controls the Florida Legislature and will finally oust those *#! blang bums who occupy our Supreme Court. Do not rest. We have several amendments which will destroy this state's freedom and liberties and tax structure (especially 6 and the class size amendment). Keep on the attack people. And just remind everyone that McLawyer is an ambulance chaser.
