No, this is not good, either way.. the RATS are up to some trick. Can he be removed from the ballot at this late date? Also could be signal that they are moving their $$$ out of NJ, which is also not good, unless we get the assurance of the pickup.

The only reason he would do any "mulling" is because an offer has come his way.

If this is true, maybe the Democrats have pulled the money plug and will try to run the tables by shifting the money to SD, MO, and MN.

We could be seeing history here!

too much money put into his campaign..unless he is directed to do so for the "Face" of the party.
To: frmrda
You are too easily swayed. Democrats manipulate the psyche of the voting democrats and this is nothing more than an effort to get the dull-headed democrat voters in N.J. to demand he stay in the race because the senate is at stake. This is part of a strategy cooked up by the democrat party. Don't be manipulated into believing the thief and liar, Toricelli, is contemplating something honorable.

If Torricelli resigns his Senate seat now - although that isn't suggested in this tidbit - the governor will appoint a replacement - a Democrat. Never would have thought that a dad man's wife would win a Senate seat so who says something similar can't be done in NJ? Maybe they've got his replacement lined up and he will be likeable enough to New Jersey voters.
I prefer Torricelli stay in the race and lose.

I don't think this is a ploy. It's too close to election day, and it comes on the heels of some devastating news.

I am worried that they have Bill Bradley waiting in the wings. I forgot about him, I was thinking old man Lautenburgh (sp?)

Actually, it says "Torricelli mulls pulling out of the race." And frankly, I'm not buying it.I agree. An unattributed "report" by Drudge, with no text, that Torch is mulling pulling out is pretty thin gruel.
Like you, I'm not buying it, and furthermore, I hope it isn't true. His continued presence on the ballot, in addition to giving the GOP a Senate seat pickup, could enable him to serve as sort of a national "poster boy" for the Dems. It could be a slight boost to Republicans in states other than NJ, and with as many races as close as they are, a slight boost could make a big difference.

The Dems should have seen this coming and turned him out a year ago. They should have seen a lot of things coming. If the Democrats had it in them to recognize failure, own up to it and take corrective action, Gore would have been president in 1998 and they wouldn't be in this mess right now.
They'd be in other messes now, but not this one.
