MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- A man savagely beaten with rakes, shovels and baseball bats by a child mob died Tuesday as authorities held nine youths in custody, and sought seven more.

The group of children, ages 10 to 18, attacked Charlie Young Jr. late Sunday after a fight that started when one of the children tossed an egg at him, police said.

you know, it kind of reminded me of the Palestinian kids beating those Israeli soldiers to death ... the article said there was blood splattered on the ceiling ... shocking ... the kids provoked, the guy responded (badly) and things went from bad to worse ... a shame all around ...

kids are stupid ... daring one another to pull stunts ... it awful that this thing turned out this way ...

These "kids" need some jail time....lots of it.

Notice how the news reports keep refering to them all as "children"? The ones between 14 and 18 ain't really children. They are old enough to have known what they were doing,and need to be getting some SERIOUS prison time.

You can't do that to a juvenile. I got in a situation like this about 25 years ago. About four young idiots had a woman cornered and began to jostle her. I intervened. When a cop came on the scene the only question he asked was, "Did you hit that juvenile?"

yeah I was going to mention that ... the law jumps around a bit on age ... there is some latitude though ... when they are wielding lethal weapons you do have a right to defend yourself ... though some stupid D.A. could make it difficult ...

At least the "kids" should be neutered. Do we really want these types propogating themselves? Society will only be committing suicide by letting them breed.

The whole juvenile/minor thing is a running farce. One you step into murder, assault, and rape you are into adult territory big time. Any kid that does that kind of thing has ceased to be a child and all innocence is lost.

Where is the black leadership on this one? I have a feeling that these "children" are inner city kids who have all been taught that they are victims of some unforeseen crimes and discrimination. They believe their lives have already been tarnished so why not put up a fight while going out.... except the only person to fight is the guy next door. What a shame.

I hope all the "children" involved spend their wasted lives behind bars.

I have nothing but contempt for any fool who will side with a 14 year old thug against someone defending themselves or someone else from him.

There is always a prosecutor around the corner, waiting to make a name for themselves, if some poor shmuck tries to defend themselves against an attacker. The first that comes to mind is one Leonard Goetz, who used a fire arm in a NY subway to fend off a mob of punks. The district attorney shredded crocodile tears in front of a jury of twelve, demanding that Goetz broke the law defending himself. After all, we are a nation of laws and if we all disobey the law, we would have anarchy on our streets, bla bla bla. Of course, the jury did not buy his line of crap, putting the DA at odds against his gun-control bosses. Like any good DA with a bloody nose, he went back to score a conviction on concealment charges. This received little or no reaction from a public who, in my opinion, should have demanded his immediate resignation.

Youths will be youths, but when we have a criminal justice system, and some horrendously power-hungry individuals in it, who do not respect our constitutional right of self protection, they are the problem!

I think everyone of them should go to prison for the rest of their lives regardless of their age. They KILLED a man.

The older ones should get the death penalty.

Why is that someone selling drugs would get far more time then murderers?
