Senate Bill 1655: Senators who know absolutely nothing about Hunting attempting to control it.
Legislation is now before the Senate Judiciary Committee that could seriously jeopardize game programs across the country by starting to federalizing hunting laws. Senate Bill 1655 would put a "one size fits all" policy on wildlife management activities that ignores the diverse hunting culture in this country. Sportsmen across the nation need to contact their U.S. Senators in opposition to this bill.

MY COMMENTS.... What these sponsors know about hunting wouldn't fill a 17 HMR brass! The 17 HMR brass is much smaller than a thimble. Want to tell me there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats? At least we have a Republican President that has actually been out in the field hunting and he can veto any such stupid legislation if it every happens to pass!
CAUTION.... The real threat to freedom here is liberal incrementalism in controlling and eventually eliminating every freedom. The exotic animal part is only the first step in stopping all hunting. Remember how they only wanted to "just have separate smoking areas" in airplanes?
MY QUESTION.... How can any hunter support the Democrat party?

A lot of hunters happen to belong to unions. They have been taught to fear the GOP by their union masters.

A lot of hunters happen to belong to unions. They have been taught to fear the GOP by their union masters.If hunters (including bow hunters) and gun owners who belong to unions support the Democrats, then they are jeopardizing their freedoms for the sake of a job. I wouldn't mind that so much, but they are jeopardizing MY FREEDOMS for the sake of their job.
To: Varmint Al
The plot line is simple: If they Federalize hunting regulations they can use "hunter safety issues" to enact national gun control regulations. With the help of Senators from places like New York and California they can then whip states like Wyoming and Texas into line.
We need to stop this fast!

I'm afraid that at least for the union longshoreman on the West Coast, the
unions/Democrats have found a great bribe.
People who can make $60K-$150K doing a job they can start without a high school
education are going to be easily moved to do the bidding of their fellow travelers.

If hunters (including bow hunters) and gun owners who belong to unions support the Democrats, then they are jeopardizing their freedoms for the sake of a job.The dumb s***s aren't even doing that; they are actually less likely to even have a job every time they vote 'rat, but they can't/won't see it. The old 'pub "fat cat" is dead, but you can't convince Joe 6 - whose family votes Democrat because grandpa did - that the 'rats will sell out every last working guy as fast (okay, faster) than today's GOP candidate.
The socialists control the media, the media wools the wage earners, and the thugs take care of any free thinkers who might have figured it out.

Remember two things
1.)The purpose of the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting and sport shooting. It's about the ultimate veto power of the soverign people
2.)Most of us are already armed

I own a ranch and part of the income of the ranch is hunting leases.Our hunters enjoy the ranch as much as we do. Thay are safe and trustworthy with thier guns.When you talk about gun control they say not in my life time.
To: solo gringo
Liberal bureaucrats could use such a law as SB 1655 and interpret it to prevent the hunting of pheasants and all other species that were not in the US when Columbus arrived.
This is liberal incrementalism in its most heinous form. By controlling the hunting of Exotic animals, it gets a foot in the door in federalizing all hunting. It is just the first step to stop all hunting. When all hunting is stopped, then fewer people will own guns. Then with fewer gun owners it will be easier to subvert the Second Amendment!

How can any hunter support the Democrat party?How could any taxpayer support the Democrat Party?
How could any (real) Catholic support the Democrat Party?
How could anybody who is not an "oppressed minority victim", not a hairy, screeching feminist, not an illiterate welfare mother who has babies like flies, who is not a parasite..... support the Democrat Party?
How could anyone who is not a scumbag support the Democrat Party?
There is no explanation. Many, many people are incapable of linear thought.

A BILLTo amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit certain interstate conduct relating to exotic animals.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

(b) CLERICAL AMENDMENT- The analysis for chapter 3 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:
END
To: Dan from Michigan
The bill as written is only the tip of the iceberg. Once they can Federalize hunting, then the Amendments start when it gets to committe. What do you think they will add in committee? This is Incrementalism in its most vile form.
To: Varmint Al
That's true, and I was thinking about the same thing.

I got a real funny one for you; ready?
A Kennedy speaks about her support for sportsman's rights. I almost died laughing when I read this, but then I realized that some stupid hunters might believe her.

Dear Friends:
Hunting and fishing are part of a historic tradition that makes Maryland such a wonderful place to live, to work, and to simply enjoy the outdoors. The next Governor of Maryland will have a profound impact on the quality of Maryland's environment and on your traditional right to hunt, fish, and trap. I want you to know that I will stand up for your rights, and that I will work to expand your outdoor opportunities with conservation programs that work for sportsmen and sportswomen.
During this campaign, I have had the pleasure of meeting with many leaders of the sportsmen's community. I have made it clear that I intend to earn your support based both on my positions and my values, which are consistent with most sportsmen in the State. These are my commitments to you:
Maryland's wildlife and fisheries policies will be governed by the principles of science, not by emotional rhetoric or political whims;
Maryland'ss proud traditions of hunting and fishing will be embraced by my Administration, and we will support programs to engage our youth in these cherished family activities;
Maryland will take no action to deprive law abiding sportsmen of their firearms, and we will support hunter safety and education programs;
Maryland will expand public hunting opportunities on existing public land and through continued open space acquisitions at state and local levels;
Maryland will pursue aggressive conservation programs to enhance the quality of our environment for future generations; and, Maryland's government will be open to you and your ideas during my Administration.
Not too long ago, I was asked a series of sportsmen-related questions in a survey by the Maryland Sportsmen Association (MSA). My responses earned me an A-minus grade. You can view MSA's survey questions and my responses by visiting MSA's website:
http://www.marylandsportsmen.org/candidates/index.htm#gov . You should know that my candidacy has been endorsed by the Recreational Fishing Alliance, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, and many of the State's top sportsmen.
Hunters and anglers were one of the earliest and most vocal supporters of conservation and wildlife management. I am proud of the support I've received from people that enjoy Maryland's outdoors, and you can trust that I will champion your cause. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 5th. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend
